Pros: Practically unbeatable location in the heart of Munich. Close to Marienplatz, one passageway away from Hofbrauhaus, and also a walking distance to other landmarks such as the Residenz. Hotel itself was clean, and the breakfast spread was great. Cons: The rooms were extremely small, and had a troubling smell of paint in them. The breakfast area was also far too small to handle the amount of people using it.

The bathroom was really weird. The tub was high and concrete? It was strange. The location was FABULOUS and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The bed was uncomfortable but acceptable. I’d stay somewhere else next time but definitely in the same area

This hotel gave me fantastic value for money accommodation in a very high-end neighbourhood, perfectly located for my visits to the Bayerische Staatsoper. The reception staff were friendly with good English, the room was clean and comfortable, the wifi worked, and there was a good range of breakfast food available in a relaxed environment. Bonus points for good water pressure in the shower, and a proper hand-held shower head. Only a few minor negatives: I had to wait nearly 15 minutes for the receptionist to appear when I was checking out, in order to ask for my bag to be stored until later. Also, despite hanging up both my bath towel and hand towel on the rail to show that they did not require replacing (as per an instruction notice in the room), housekeeping removed them anyway and replaced only the bath towel, leaving me to dry my hair on the bath mat! The curtain situation could be better, too; in a first-floor room overlooking the street, the single-layer blackout drapes with no nets meant I had to choose between daylight and privacy while getting dressed. There was a little street noise at times but this is not a noisy neighbourhood. I have already recommended this hotel to friends for its proximity to the Bayerische Staatsoper and hope to stay here again myself in the future.
