The village of Aricera, in the Douro Valley, home of Outros Tempos, existed from Roman times. There is a parish church with a beautiful altar in gilt, the invocation of Saint Cristovão, whose party takes place on 25 July. The elegant and old (1745) main house entrance gate in Outros Tempos can be a starting point for a healthy village tour through the narrow village streets lined with stone houses: one can observe the cradle district of the village, water sources, and a community washing clothes tank, an interesting oil mill, the former prison of the village window from MDCCCXXIX (1829). Visitors can also participate in multiple rural activities that are available seasonally: December / January / February, pig party; February almond blossom; March / April, home-made sausages proof; April, walks between apple trees in bloom; May / June shepherd for a day, the cherry harvest; July / August charm holidays, in family, in the village; September, the harvest feast; October, apple picking; November, chestnuts feast, wine tastings. The Régua train station is 19 km away.
Porto International Airport is 118 km away. Check-in will be done at reception between 16:00 and 22:00. Check-out is until 12:00. There is a zero-tolerance policy for smoking in the property. If our team discovers any evidence that this rule has been breached (e.g., smoke smell, ashes, butts, etc.) we fully reserve the right to charge a €200 EUR smoking fee, at minimum. Please note that for stays longer than 30 nights a fair use policy of the utilities will apply with a limit of 80€ included.
