The customer service at the front desk is terrible. Definetly not what me and my family are used to. Mostly all of the staff seems a lottle uptight. Very uncomfortable for my family. We have been to dozens of other hotels in the city of Santo Domingo and through out the country. And this was rhe worst experience. Would not recommend to any one. Look at other options.

Perhaps not a 5 star hotel in terms of Western standards. This hotel definitely needs a complete makeover, in terms of their furnishings and interiors. Although, some might say they like stepping back into the 1980s. I absolutely hate hotel rooms with carpet flooring, as I prefer wooden laminate flooring for hygiene reasons. However, what was lacking in terms of modern finishings, their friendly and helpful staff were absolutely brilliant. Special shout out to Anna, who just began working there, who I looked forward to her pleasant greetings and smile every morning. And the handsome gentleman, Steven on reception was also super helpful. Overall, I was told this hotel is one of the best for the price here in Santo Domingo. But, If you do stay here, definitely pay the upgrade to stay on the 7th floor which are the executive rooms. As you get extra perks such as access to 8th floor restaurant, with happy hour drinks, and free soft drinks for he entire day. And the food is yummy. Talking of which, the breakfast meal was delicious, with lots of options. I would definitely stay here again. Change the flooring to laminate flooring and this hotel would be excellent.

They tricked my aunt into “upgrading” rooms for an extra 100 dollars. They moved us into a much smaller room, with a TV with 4 channels. The rest room was filthy with hair all over the shower clearly no one cleaned. The “open bar” option had a handful of choices of the worst liquor, I was still charged for drinks. The bartenders proactively move slow to avoid serving you too many times. We requested extra blankets for an extra bed that were never sent. One towel for three people. After we asked for towels, a blanket and for them to clean they ignored us for two days. The balcony which was part of the pitch for the upgrade was a joke with nothing for a view. They did nothing to resolve our issues and kept our entire deposit. They clearly took advantage of my aunt because it was her first time there. I’ve stayed there before and it was decent. I’m not sure what’s going on lately but we clearly got hustled for extra money. At this point I would not recommend it. Many years ago I had a good experience there so while I intend to give the place one more chance, because of the location I’ll be paying close attention.

Had two rooms , and I need to change both of them at 1:30 am because of AC , Mini Bar, Safety Deposit Box was loose and unsafe. If you go there check the AC FIRST.
