We like the small, personal size and the more individualistic interior design of the rooms. Not really a chateau but we like the idea and some of the chateau like details. Our room was spacious, had a fireplace that we really needed and we loved the view. A cute pool but it was too cold on our stay to use it. Good sized mini bar fridge.
But all that being said, the facility coud use some maintenance. Paint in the room chipped and stained, the two small side tables were also chipped. The heating (and it got cold a night when we were there) turned off after midnight and would not come on again until around 6.00 AM. And there were no warm blankets for this eventuality. There was no table and straight chair in the room for computer work.
On the other hand, the staff, while untrained and unprofessional, were delightful and very pleasant and willing to do what needed done. It just should have been attended to before we arrived not during out stay.
Two of our three nights saw the restaurant closed. That was unexpected and inconvenient. Not even sandwiches. A definite flaw in service when people often come a long way.
In sort, we really like the place, fabulous view over the lake, water birds come up to say high (or search for a hand out), cozy fireplace, big 4 poster bed, nice people but needs attention to detail. With it, I would give this place a very good review.
