Everything was nice, until some repetitive noise, as if venting steam, kept us awake all night

The building is old but remodeled. The remodeling is on on-going process. What stands out are the tall ceilings in the lobby and the molding.

I took my fiance here for our anniversary and looking more into what they offer for a wedding venue. Walking in, the place and the rooms on the first floor were amazing and elegant. The pool/Jacuzzi area was tidy and clean, and the lobby was very welcoming. When opening the door to our room, i was shocked at the size of the room. Although it had nice flooring (no carpeting like most places), it was extremely small for what I had expected. It would have been much more suitable for one individual. However, everything was very clean. We went to get ice and upon coming back, our key cars didn't work. We went to the front desk and was immediately given 2 more. A few hours later after going to the pool, we arrived back once again for our key cards to again not be working. We had to go back down to the first floor to get two more made, once again. After that, we didn't have trouble using them again. The noise that could be heard in the hallways from each room and the lack of carpet made everything a lot louder so I feel like everyone could hear our conversations. My biggest shock was the "free" breakfast. It specifically states that one of the amenities is free breakfast which wasn't the case. We got there with our tokens and after getting our check, realized you just get $5 off. This should be WAY more clearly stated. Unless you want a bagel with cream cheese or oatmeal, dont go. I would have also had my FREE coffee in the room instead of paying again for it there.

We've stayed here a few times now and they were as friendly as ever. We've been watching the hotel slowly transform itself with updates that really have made a difference. They have kept the same classic, historical feel but are slowly but surely modernizing the rooms, the lobby area and the dining options. We can't wait to see what the renovated rooms look like when we come back in the summer!

Lovely older hotel. Bar and dining was affordable and tasty. Close to downtown n could walk easily to store. I love older hotels..renewed
