It's a great place! It's huge, yes, but beautiful, well maintained, modern, with all you could want in one place - restaurants, gym, several pools (apparently themed by music genre), a chapel, stores, spa, a medical clinic. Despite the fact that the hotel was full we never waited long to eat or at the front counter. The food was amazing: so much variety and good quality. It's a walkable resort, but lots of stairs and inclines so be aware. You an also take shuttles everywhere. The staff was polite, attentive, and good humored.
We explored 2 sister properties (the rose, and the pacifica which is the all-adult version). We were able to get a 'free' meal at the rose and the pacifica had a surcharge. The Rose is worth going to because it gets you into town and you can wander for a bit.
To know: the beach is not swimmable. You won't get that here. Also, no coffee in the rooms! I like to be able to make a pot in the morning. Easy to get coffee at The Market, but I recommend bringing some ground beans or tea bags if you don't want to leave the room so early.
Overall, we loved it. For reference, we are active empty nesters in our 50's.
