It’s a pricey villa but it was good enough to have a private family quality time.

The set up of the room was good to accommodate us. The staff was friendly. Pinestone did not update Expedia or their website to say the Spa and Pool were under tenovation thus closed.

No breakfast service available. Indoor pool, sauna and fitness all not available. Golf course was in bad shape, many greens looked like they had a disease! So much potential but needs a lot of loving care!

Pleasant Stay

We stayed in a villa with a nice view of the golf course. The resort overall is dated and in need of a reno. However, our room was spacious with a large bedroom of 2 comfortable queen beds, a full bath with jacuzzi tub, a kitchenette with microwave and bar fridge, and a sunken livingroom with gas fireplace and separate diningroom. Lots of windows with natural light. We had problems lighting the gas fireplace but the maintenance came promptly and got it working. The ceiling fan was too noisy to have on all the time, but did move the air. Unfortunately, the pool and fitness room were closed for maintenance while we were there, so I cannot comment on them. The Stone 21 restaurant does not serve breakfast so we went to nearby Haliburton. We did eat dinner at the Stone 21 and the food was very good! Prices were reasonable for a resort. We didn't use the golf course, but many people did! It was a pleasant stay but I think it will be a while before we are back.

this place needs renovation

This place needs a major renovation. Everything is outdated and smells terrible. You don’t want to put your feet on the carpet. I had to stay there because there was no other choice! I think that’s why they keep it the way it is—only for people who had no other option to stay overnight. If they renovate it, it’ll be in a good area, but the building and rooms are terrible.
Negar, 1-night trip

We were there 4 days. Towels changed once. Beds made twice. No cleaning or garbage removal despite sign saying it would be done daily. Had to go to fest for toilet paper and soap. So disappointed. The staff at desk were kind, but service expected from a hotel was not there!
Susan, 4-night trip

I would visit again!

We had a nice time here and we would come back. The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. The restaurant had great food at reasonable prices.
Heather, 2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Breakfast at the restaurant was excellent! We appreciated the friendly, efficient service. Also, the price. The front desk staff were helpful and pleasant. The property as a whole is in need of upgrades (ie carpets) and refurbishing.
Lois, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

The facility was lovely however I specifically booked this place for a march break trip for my grandson and myself because it had a pool so when I arrived with him and the pool facilities were under renovations I was very disappointed and my grandson was heartbroken. We couldn’t afford to go south so we specifically booked a place with a pool so he would get a bit of a tropical feel. The fact that the construction was never mentioned during the booking was very disheartening.

Staff was excellent. Hotel was located conveniently for our needs. Restaurant was comfortable w/good service. Unfortunately both indoor & outdoor pools were not open. Outdated, worn carpet in hallways & rooms. The place looks like it could use some attention.

Resort was very dated. No microwave in rooms. Swimming pool empty, weather in the high 20’s low 30’s Celsius.

There is potential for this to be a beautiful place. It is very outdated and neglected. I am a travel agent and would not book my clients here
Shirley, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

Just don't.

Facilities are very run down. Carpet is bare in spots and buckling in numerours areas in the hallways. Our room was a tired, well used motel quality space. Stained carpets, ripped curtains, holes in the wall and outdated fixtures and decor. We couldn't wait to leave. Unfortunately what was once a grand old lady, is sadly all but gone. Stay somewhere else.
Michael, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

We booked Pinestone resort in Haliburton Sept 27 and 28. They didn't have working air conditioning nor heat. They had a fan and a small heater that we could plug in. No breakfast either. They also had issues for more than 24 hours with TV - no access to any programs, just "snow". The pool, sauna, and exercise room were also out of commission. They would do nothing because i booked with 3rd party, and suggested I contact Expedia. We have stayed here before. No issues. I have never given a bad rating before. We were so disappnted. We attended a wedding and celebrated our 50th anniversary on the 28th. The accommodations kind of took the romance out of our celebrations.

4/10 Fair

The only good thing about this property was friendly staff at front desk and restaurant. Restaurant food was good but not for the price or amount of food. Online menu prices are $3-$5 dollars cheaper than the menu at the restaurant they need to update it. The hotel pictures online are nothing like that. It is run down, ripped rugs, rugs are heaved up in some areas a real tripping hazard. Rugs are very stained. Very dusty especially the grand piano. Hotel washrooms were dirty, stinky and toilets not flushing. In our room there was mould in the shower, pillows extremely soft, beds were not comfortable, air conditioning didn’t get cool, more French channels than anything else. The pool outside isn’t up and going it’s filled with sluggish water which is just outside the restaurant windows. Outside our balcony that overlooked the so called water view is the green garbage bins and large propane tanks. When in the restaurant we had to change tables as there was a black hornet in the window at our table when I informed them I’m highly allergic and didn’t have an Epipen they didn’t do anything. The place is very run down truly didn’t enjoy my stay there, didn’t even wish me a happy birthday the reason for being there and I put that in my notes. Also, asked for a water view room only got it because our room wasn’t ready for us and it was after 4pm. Don’t waste your money here.
