Hotel Keflavik

Very close to the airport but the rooms were not nearly as modern as many of the other places we stayed in Iceland.

Overrated, if they were as keen on quality as their obsession with Versace logo's and gold plated things it would be great, but Poor! The experience was bad, from the start the room smelled like a sewer from the shower which had spread a smell into the room, asked to change room and the staff was very friendly here (Very helpful!) but then it went downhill again, uncomfortable bed, did not get a single hour of sleep, The restaurant is nice but too small and seem a little overpriced even for Iceland. The worst part: breakfast, it was like they deliberately had tried to hide things, plates and the whole setup was off, super small plates (which did not discourage people from just going more times, not having less). No obvious place at all to place the dirty plates so everyone just left their plates in the sitting area, the place was messy at 5 AM, 10 minutes after it opened for breakfast. Area for breakfast which was uncomfortable seats. There were no staff and only one girl in reception, who seemed too busy being on online, to actually help clean up or anything.

A very nice hotel, well furnished with comfy beds and helpful and courteous staff. I only didn't give it top marks all round because the reception was being upgraded at the time of our stay and the room was very warm even with the windows open and radiator off. Didn't eat in the restaurant but it came very recommended by everyone I spoke to.

We had a great stay at Hotel Keflavík! The staff was accommodating when we arrived early to check in. The free breakfast buffet and parking were a great perk to this hotel. My only qualm was that the hotel restaurant did not have a very good variety of menu options for dinner, so we had to go out for food alternatives (not a big issue). The room was clean and the hotel provided the basics needed for my trip. Overall, it was a great experience.

We stayed in this hotel the night before flying out of Keflavik Airport. The most convenient thing was their airport transport and close proximity to the airport. Otherwise, we weren't impressed. When we arrived, the elevator was temporarily not working so we had to haul our heavy luggage up the stairs. There were ceiling panels taken out and ladders on our floor to navigate while some repairs going on. The breakfast was a huge disappointment compared to two other hotels we stayed at in Iceland - very limited offerings. The room was very dated and we found it odd that the TV was mounted on the wall to the SIDE of the bed, instead of the END of the bed which was a pain for watching TV. As previously mentioned, it was a perfect place to stay if you have an early flight the next morning and need a ride, but otherwise I wouldn't stay here again.

When we booked it said it had recently undergone extensive renovations... unfortunately when we arrived it was still on going and on the first morning down for breakfast the reception area was full of workmen, ladders and lights and wires dangling down. Our room had a very musty smell the whole time we were staying. The food was good and drinks reasonable prices, just a shame it was still being worked on as it made breakfast very noisy. Also receptionist was very abrupt in letting us know that breakfast had finished at 10 as we were still finishing ours at 10:20(even though we had been there since 9:30) , she duct taped a sign up saying it was finished@10 and removed it as soon as we left.... Overall an ok hotel in a good location for exploring. Just a shame it didn't live up to expectations.

What s great property and we would definitely recommend and stay again when in Iceland. Unfortunately over the holiday season they had renovations which is why the stay was not perfect but by the end of our stay it was perfect. I highly recommend the restaurant in the hotel and what a great gym for those who travel & work out. The breakfast was great and the staff (especially the woman who runs the breakfast) is just simply amazing! You will not regret the stay. I do suggest to book above the standard room because we stayed in a suite and it was just lovely and very spacious. I did have to complain about the noise that took place on the weekend but they immediately took care of it!

I booked this hotel for our last night in Iceland prior to heading back. We arrived late as there was snow storm leading to an accident causing stopped traffic. The male personnel working was very unprofessional and upset that we asked to see new room after seeing our room. We booked a standard double room however room smelled and the bathroom was way too crowded. This should be shown in pictures, anyways the male personnel’s response was “didn’t you see what you booked online”. Sure i did but i was mislead by bathroom pics or perhaps lack of pictures. Anyhow, possibly the new upgraded rooms are nicer but he was saying $200 more to upgrade our room which was quite a bit! Wish we just booked Iceland Air Hotel as we did not have any issues with their service or accommodations previously! Hope you guys will also upgrade your standard rooms because they forsure need it or perhaps help your staff in accommodating disappointed guest! I get he probably does not want to be dealing with that at midnight but neither did we, only circumstances caused us to be late!

Great breakfast included. It was nice to have the shuttle to the airport Unfortunately the hotel is undergoing some renovations, so the lobby was sectioned off with plastic sheeting.
