I wouldn't stay anywhere else in the Reykjavik area . The house is perfect for a group of 4 or more. It's in a rural area (we saw the aurora from the house!), but close enough to easily get to Reykjavik, the airport or The Blue Lagoon by car. Communication with Margret was great. We are already considering a return trip.
Nice property near the ocean and in a quiet local action , near all day excursions around the Capital
Beautiful ocean front property. The home was furnished beautifully. Conveniently located to airport, Blue Lagoon, and Reykjavik. I great value.
Fantastic place. Highly recommended!
Had a great stay here. She was very accommodating and even allowed us to check in early as well as drop off luggage. Location is great. Just far enough out of Reykjavik for peace and quiet. Close to the cute little town of Vogar that had a couple decent restaurants. I will DEFINITELY return here. Thank you so much.
An absolutely wonderful experience. The property is everything you could imagine.
This is a very nice home in a rural setting just 20 minutes from the airport. The owner is a delight and very helpful. We would definitely stay there again.
We throughly enjoyed our stay at Margaret’s home. It was warm, very comfortable and in a great location.
Amazing quiet retreat after a very busy day. The ocean view was great. he somewhat off the beaten path location made for an authentic Icelandic experience, and the airport is only a fifteen minute drive . Awesome hostess!
Margret was great with communication and her hospitality was beyond expectations. Her house, which is in Vogar, is close to the airport at Keflavik. We were permitted to check in early due to a very early arrival. She had coffee for us (delicious) and the home is extremely comfortable and welcoming with wonderful eclectic furniture and art and artifacts from around the world, comfortable beds and a hot tub (although the hot tub house needs tidying). The location is just slightly remote (it is Iceland after all, and we didn't want to be in the city) and the ocean view truly is lovely. After we had a nice nap we were personally greeted by Margaret who was charming and spent quite a bit of time with us explaining things, sharing some less travelled places to go and some of her personal history which was very interesting. Don't plan on spending too much time at the mini black sand beach out front though - the weather isn't really beach weather. For us the location was perfect - very close to the airport and grocery shopping and not too far from Reykjavik which has nice sights, history and restaurants. For us the location was more desirable for sightseeing all around Iceland than being in Reykjavik. (But do go to the city and see the old part and shop a bit. Go to Perlan - no matter what anyone says the restaurant there is a MUST.) We were so fortunate to see the Aurora Borealis while we were there - two nights in a row! Very little light pollution (except for the next door neighbor who has something like floodlights on the back porch all night). We could go on about how much we loved the place but you get the idea. If we get back to Iceland, which we hope to, we would definitely ask to stay here again.
