Welcome to Redondo Beach House, conveniently located minutes from Sea-Tac Airport, 20 minutes to Downtown Seattle and 20 minutes to Tacoma.
The Beach house is originally known as the “Willows”. Built in 1905 by a lumber baron, and was used as a summer beach house. A three-bedroom, one bath home that has been updated with modern amenities without losing the character and charm of the first owner’s original concept. It is one of the original summer homes remaining on Redondo’s famous Boardwalk.
As with any older home the Beach House comes with its quirks.
As you pull up to the property, the parking is limited to two vehicles. Once you come to the covered front porch, you will find it to be the perfect place to grab one of the chairs to relax and breathe in the fresh salt water air.
Upon entering this Beach House you will be greeted by a modern open concept living space. The living room flows into the dining room and spacious kitchen. The main living is at ground level, with oversized windows providing a sweeping view of the water, sunset and nature flooding the home with natural light and a cozy ambience.
On the main floor you will also find the bathroom. Professionally designed, the bathroom lends to a light and airy retreat that you have been needing. The washer and dryer are also on the main floor. Designed to fit in seamlessly with the kitchen, the seven-foot quartz counter atop the washer and dryer makes for a great space to dump all your bags after a long day at the beach, out on the town, or above all else time with family.
Going upstairs to the second floor, being an older home, there are 16 stairs and at a steeper angle than most younger homes have today. Once upstairs you will be greeted by an adorable little hallway leading to the three bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms are roughly the same size and offer one twin bed in each room. Both rooms look onto the beautifully, lighted landscaped backyard. The main bedroom has an absolutely stunning 180 degree view, with the home facing West-Northwest. It looks out over the Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountain Range. It is a great space to wake up to cotton candy pink sunrises or wind down at the end of the day to some of the most magnificent sunset views that few places in the world have. The large deck off the master offers a wonderful place to reconnect with family and friends. With a fire table and seating around it for four, it transforms into a relaxing spot to sit back, take in the views and enjoy a glass of wine or just watch the people stroll along the boardwalk. From the deck you will also get to see Bald Eagles, Osprey, Blue Heron, Seals, Porpoises and occasionally spot a whale.
Another great place on the property to relax is in the backyard. With a large deck and seating for 5, the area is wrapped in foliage to provide privacy while being located right on the boardwalk. The back deck has been professionally designed and the landscaping has been beautifully lit in the evenings for outdoor dinners with your family or just being able to chat and catch up with some old friends. As you move through the garden, you will be greeted by terraces with concrete stairs leading you to the top. While there are 22 stairs (with breaks on the way), there are two grass areas and planted terraces. It is a great place to retreat to away from the hustle and bustle of the Boardwalk. Relax in the lounge chairs from morning till night, this space truly does not disappoint. The glow of the landscape when it is lit up at night is a great way to unwind in the evening.
Redondo has been an amazing place to raise our teenage boys and we are excited to share our home so that more families can experience all that the great Pacific Northwest has to offer.
