Very efficient hotel. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Worth the stay

They did not have hot water. My first day in! I needed to shower for a meeting the next morning. No Hot water is crazy.!

The location is perfect for me, and I like that they have preserved historic details--beautiful marble stairs and wood floors. They also have a decent gym--unusual for this kind of hotel these days. But the faucet in the sink was wobbly, the sink drain had no stopper, and the tub drained slowly. The HVAC was a window unit that cut on and off through the night, with a loud rattle and roaring fan. I am a heavy sleeper, but had my wife been with me it would have been a disaster for her. The cleaning service didn't replace the tiny bottle of lotion, which I needed in the dry air of winter. I had to ask for another--which was delivered promptly. The first morning I returned from the gym and prepared to shower, but the water never heated up. I called the front desk and they said, "Oh, yes, our boiler isn't working." A message on the phone system giving fair warning of this would have been appreciated. At the least they could have offered a free coffee. (The WiFi is worthless unless you pay for it, and the coffee costs $1.99. I think hotels are better off charging another $3-$5 per day and providing good internet and free coffee.) I went to the gym again my last morning and when I returned, around 8:00, my room key had already been deactivated. With more attention to maintenance and better HVAC this could be a winner; they are not quite there yet.

Found the Mansfield quickly on Hotels.com for a discounted price. Only issue that we encountered was, on our last morning, was dangerously hot. Notified the front desk as we checked out and they said that they appreciated the heads up and that it would be corrected before the next customer.

My experience with this hotel was terrible once we checked in our room it was very cold we contact the service desk they did come up and adjust the heat but it was still cold for the second time ,we contact service desk again for the third time and they did adjust the heat again then it was too hot so about two in the morning had to contact the service desk again to come up and they adjusted the heat but then the steam heat make noise all night so we did not get not one bit asleep we were up all night Listening to the noise of the steam The next morning I spoke with the manager and he did come up and and fixed it for the third time I felt like they should not have charged us for that one night that we were up all night all they said was that they were sorry for the inconvenience I will not stay at that hotel Ever again and will not recommend any of my friends to stay there either
