I booked 2 rooms for my son and his friends through Expedia. The information about parking was incorrect & they were charged $120 tax for 2 cars for 2 days (valet), instead of the $15 per day covered self-parking as stated in Expedia. My original reservation was for 3 people in one room, and 2 in the other. Two weeks prior I called Fairmont to add one more person to the 2nd room and also re-confirmed that there is a sofa bed with the king bed in both. The lady confirmed that (1) she had changed the # of people in the 2nd room, and (2) that there is a sofa bed in each room. That did not happen. I found out that someone had to sleep on the floor in both rooms, both nights.
I called Fairfield and spoke to the manager, Cory. He tried to deflect by telling me it was my fault for not calling the hotel to verify that the parking information is indeed correct (really?) and also since I don't have the name of the person I spoke to when I called the hotel -- I could be lying. But the original reservation was for 3 people in one of the rooms, so there definitely is supposed to be a sofa bed in at least one room! He originally offered credit for half the parking charge. But I insisted that he should give me some credit for the people that had to sleep on the floor. He refused, & I got mad & threatened to write a bad review (I did pay a lot for my son & his friend to have to sleep on the floor). He rescinded his offer to give me some credit for parking and hung up on me. STAY AWAY!
