A very dated hotel. It has all the basics and some nice views. The location is key for the price. The automatic front door was broken and had to be open manually. Morning coffee was good in the buffet area. Lots of places to walk around and see nearby. The front desk people seemed very nice.

Cost effective but tired.

Renting in Ankorage during the sunmer high season is VERY expensive. We rented here based on price and availability. The building is a bit smelly and although the rooms were big they weren't really clean. Probably better to go for a higher end hotel or an air BNB a bit outside of town and pay for an Uber or cab.

Old hotel in downtown

Old hotel but does the job. Big spacious rooms and balcony but no chairs to sit down on. Make sure to get a room high up or the traffic will be very loud. Younger staff has attitude like bored teenagers and are only there for the paycheck. Breakfast is toast, muffins and coffee and everyone has a problem with the toaster which has been around since the 18:th century. I stayed here because it’s in downtown and easy to walk to everything.

My friends and I needed a place to stay for 1 night in Anchorage before heading home and the Westmark had everything that we required. It’s right downtown, so very walkable to anything you could want/need. We just happened to stay the night of the summer solstice and were a quick 1 minute walk to where the solstice festival was being held. Very close to shops and food as well.
