During our stay at Holiday Inn Evanston, we discovered multiple bed bugs around the pillow on one bed in Room 1012 after taking a short nap. This was extremely concerning, as we have never encountered bed bugs before in our lives. Give us goose bumps thinking about it!
When we reported the issue, the front desk staff questioned our claim and even suggested that we may have brought the bed bugs ourselves. The hotel did not send anyone to inspect the room. We were only moved to a different room without further explanation.
We later asked to speak with the manager. She informed us that a professional would check the room at some point in the future but did not provide a clear timeline or resolution. No immediate action was taken, and no follow-up was offered.
Overall, the situation was handled poorly. The presence of bed bugs is a serious matter, and the lack of prompt inspection, accountability, or guest support was disappointing.
