Heated floors 😳
This was one of my favorite stays on my entire trip!!! All because of the heated floors 😂 loved that they called for an Aurora wake up call and I didn’t even have to go outside, I just opened my window and there they were. Breakfast was great and it was early which I loved so I could start my day.

Overnight Stay in Skaftafell
Hotel Skaftafell is the only hotel located in Skaftafell and we chose it to be close to the National Park for a glacier hike. The view out of our room was of a glacier and there was a short trail to it. Hotel staff were helpful upon arrival and informed us that our only options for dinner were the hotel or the convenience store across the street. We opted for the convenience store since we were heading to the glacier lagoon. The beds were not very comfortable so glad it was only a one night stay. Breakfast was included and it was good. If you’re traveling the Ring Road and need a place to stay for one night I would recommend this hotel.

The rooms were great, but can only accommodate up to three people per room, so our family of five had to book two rooms. The rooms were simple and clean. Bathroom shower was a little outdated and small. Bed we’re comfortable.

There are wonderful hiking trails right out the back door. You can hike to 2 glaciers. The food in the restaurant was excellent, but very pricey.

Night checkin person was great at helping resolve the incorrect number of guests and getting an extra bed for us.

Check in lady was not friendly at all. We went little early than check in time, I told her that I was not feeling well if we can check in little early, she said rooms are not ready, and we only went 45 minutes earlier than check in time 4 o’clock, we had two rooms and she could have given us at least one room. Also bathroom shower was very small.

Excellent service!
The front desk staff told me in detail how to access the trail to the glacier behind the hotel. They also very kindly put my cold food in the restaurant refrigerator overnight as our room had no fridge. They gave me ice the next morning as I was leaving. Excellent service!

8/10 Very good

This was a very nice, clean, and basic hotel. Across the street is a well-stocked gas station, convenience store, and cafe. Behind the hotel is a lovely, short hike that overlooks 2 glaciers. This was the most expensive overnight stay that we had in Iceland, but you're paying for the location here as there isn't much available so close to Jokulsarlon and the sights in between. The complimentary breakfast was very nice. Dinner again was the most expensive meal we had, but it was delicious and beautifully presented. Overall, we were very happy with our stay here.

6/10 Good

I recently stayed at your hotel and wanted to share my thoughts. While the staff was friendly and the breakfast was good, there were a few areas that fell short of my expectations. The hotel rooms were quite small, and the pillows were old and worn out, which affected the comfort of my stay. Additionally, I found that there were limited vegetarian options not only at the hotel but also in the surrounding area.
