Haven Riviera Cancun - All Inclusive - Adults Only
8/10 Good
"It was ok, not fabulous. The entertainment was average. Not much to do. The food was good but not great. Nothing that really stood out. The staff was awesome, very helpful and friendly. The place is only 8 years old but hasn’t been maintained well.
It was nice but probably would not go back."
"My stay at Riu Ventura was amazing overall. I stayed for a week and my room had a gorgeous ocean view. Chris and Fatima at the front desk were very nice and patient, and the housekeeping staff were very sweet. I celebrated my birthday there, but I was not expecting the hotel staff to decorate my room with balloons and a birthday cake towel statue, as well as give me tequila and dessert! That was awesome. The waiters at all of the restaurants were stellar and some of the food, especially the tilapia, was super delicious."
Excellence Riviera Cancun - Adults Only All Inclusive
10/10 Excellent
"Quick, easy, and completely relaxing. Excellent food, and outstanding hospitality from start to finish. Flying in and out was straightforward, making it one of the easiest beach getaways for a 4 day trip. Highly recommend!"
Atelier Playa Mujeres - Adults Only - All Inclusive
10/10 Excellent
"This was one of the best resorts I’ve ever stayed at and I’ve stayed at quite a few. Not to mention, this was a solo vacation for me where I felt extremely safe. The customer service was implacable, the views were nice, and the food was great! I would recommend to anybody."
Iberostar Selection Riviera Cancún - All Inclusive
8/10 Good
"We just returned from 5 nights with my husband & 5-year-old.
Pros: The resort is beautifully maintained, clean & common areas are all close by so there is not a long walk to each place. The food is mostly good, but the menus are lacking in some basic areas. I.e. - chicken fingers are not available for kids. Basic sandwiches are not available for grab-and-go lunch, etc. Housekeeping did a great job all week, but the hours of their service were not predictable. Staff were welcoming at our arrival & helpful throughout our stay. The place really is kid-friendly, with activities for kids each day/night and a separate kid pool area. Though it could be expanded upon to offer more slides, etc. Offering recycling and no single-use plastic is a great effort for the environment. Plenty of pools to choose from & the crowds were non-existent most of the time.
Cons: We were in building 3 with a lookout suite. Building 3 is right by the party pool, where there are adult activities daily. This makes it impossible for an afternoon nap; assigning families to a different building may be more practical. If you are going for the beach, this is not the resort. The beach is extremely small & seaweed is still a significant problem even in October. Food menus could be expanded, as well as the room service menu. There is no breakfast on the room service menu & only 1 breakfast option & really one lunch option at the buffet. Dinner offers the only variety. Room service should be available 24/7."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Quintana Roo
Book for the cheapest times: Quintana Roo offers great value for money, especially on a budget, with lower prices during September to November. This period is an ideal time to visit, as the cost of hotels could drop, making it an affordable destination for travellers. A stay of at least 4 days is recommended to fully appreciate the region's rich history, landmarks, and natural attractions, ensuring you have ample time to explore its cultural treasures.
Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: In Quintana Roo, you may discover attractive deals on Hotels.com by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window section. If you’re seeking last-minute bargains, check the Last-Minute Deals area, where discounted hotel options near your travel date could be available. By enabling email alerts or push notifications, you’re more likely to see flash sales and reduced rates. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool on the app allows travellers to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you stay updated on any potential savings for your next getaway.
Be flexible with dates: Prices may vary due to factors including the hotel's location, star rating, and time of year, so being flexible with your dates may help you save on your stay in a Quintana Roo hotel. For those seeking a unique experience, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised service and occasionally offer better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average, and if it appears to be on the higher side, we might suggest alternative dates that could help you find a more attractive deal.
Consider your location: Staying in the centre of major cities in Quintana Roo undoubtedly offers convenience, but it is more likely to come at a premium. The hustle and bustle of local attractions, trendy restaurants, and lively nightlife can drive up prices, making such areas less affordable. Opting for accommodations in smaller towns or rural areas tends to be more budget-friendly, though this often involves a trade-off with additional travel time to reach key attractions. Alternatively, exploring nearby cities might reveal a wealth of attractions and a more attractive rate, presenting a balanced choice between convenience and cost.
Best time to go to Quintana Roo
Quintana Roo has a varied climate due to its size, so the best time to visit depends on the region and your preferences for weather and crowds. If you’re looking to soak up the lively atmosphere in Quintana Roo, January, March, and July are the peak months to visit, bustling with fellow travelers. During this peak period, the weather is mostly sunny, with little to no rainfall. However, if you prefer a more relaxed experience, October to December are perfect for a quieter getaway, marked by light rainfall and mostly sunny conditions.
