Details
Room was small but clean and ok to stay for one day, but unfortunately the bed lights weren't working. View from the window was for the very ugly and dirty roof. Breakfast, quite expensive for what we received. The only warm option is English breakfast but they were missing mushrooms (which we were not informed before ordering), fried egg was broken and looked more like an omlet.. no coffee express, but missing option of a warm milk. There was noone available to ask a question or even talk with.

Lovely, well run, historic & characterful hotel
This was a last minute booking, when our AirBnB apartment turned out to be a disaster. The hotel accommodated us at short notice and it turned out to be terrific. It was centrally located, clean, warm, and well maintained. The staff were welcoming and helpful. We only stayed the one night, but would definitely return if we had occasion to visit Rugby again.

The Hotel was fine. The directions for the car park were not good: the satnav postcode tried to take me into the carpark through the bollards & it was not clear how to drive round to the real entrance. I stopped the car and walked onto Sheep St to ask at the Hotel, but it was labelled 'The Horseshoe'! When I got inside, there was no-one at reception so I dialled the number from the phone on the desk & a mobile phone on charge on the shelf started ringing! Another guest explained to me how to get into the carpark, which I managed to do. On re-arrival I again had difficulty checking in. The room was comfortable & the check-out was fine!

Staff very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was good value. Difficult to find initially as not clearly signed. Should let visitors know upon booking that they should park in the Asda carpark.

Avoid for a while
This hotel should close until the refurbishment has been completed. Hazards everywhere. Builder accessed my room while I was showering. This hotel is very tired. Dog barking in the night… Perfectly placed in what is now a run down town

Fabulous staff . Have a little patience , it will
The staff were the best , super friendly and eager to please . The hotel is under reconstruction so there are the odd blips . I had a small single room which will be great when renovated . They had redesigned the bathroom which looked good but a few design flaws 1. The steep bend in the sink faucet did not accommodate trying to fill the tea kettle full , you had to fill the cup three times then tip it into the kettle to fill it , 2. The spare toilet roll holder is down to the left of the commode and the paper roll gets absolutely soaked from the water spray of the open shower . Maybe these two things need corrected before all the bathrooms are reconditioned if you wish to save £ on toilet paper and kettle grumblings from guests . Cheers . Oh the glass window in 201 is cracked , sure it’s up for replacement. Did I mention the employees did everything to make your stay comfortable and were friendly and professional. I hope you keep them post refurbishment.

Very pleasant stay, though hot!
Staff was delightful. Bathroom was amazing, although it could use something non-slip in the shower. It could use a hook or 2 in the bathroom. No air conditioning and very hot with only a tiny fan. Staff more than made up for this. They were wonderful.

Cheap, very central. Walls paper thin, broken night sleep due to noisy neighbours. Phone in room but could not be connected to wall.

2/10 Poor

The room I assigned had a very strong smell of paint fumes that would have made me sick had I stayed. I turned on the tap in the bathroom and brown water came out. I explained this to the receptionist (who was very friendly and helpful) and asked for another room. He didn't have any so he kindly refunded my booking and found me another hotel nearby. I generally stay in budget hotels and hostels. I do not expect luxury - just basic facilities. But this is the first time I have been confronted with a room that was clearly not fit for human habitation.
