Booked two rooms for two nights for a business trip.
Luckily we didn't stay in the rooms for long, as one room was infested with bed-bugs.
Woke up after first night completely covered in bites (face, hands, legs, arms, back), which then prompted us to pull back the bedsheet only to find live bed-bugs crawling over the mattress, along with a lot of their waste... Stayed on the floor of the second room for the second night as couldn't find any bugs in that room...no staff on site to talk to and by then quite late with no available near-by hotels. Spoke to Hotels.com about the issue (provided a photo of one of the bugs on mattress, also have video of two crawling on surface of mattress along with their excrement), for which they phoned the hotel who replied that they are 'upholding their cancellation policy' and that no refund was available.
The accommodation appears to be an ex student house or multiple occupancy, which has been converted to an unstaffed hotel. Had a couple outside our room on arrival arguing with staff on the phone as they couldn't access their room via pin-pad for around an hour, so not a very welcoming start.
Had to fumigate our work vans and equipment as didn't want to bring the bed-bugs home with us as they can be incredibly destructive. This place needs to have pest control assess the entire property, as this is unacceptable.
