Finding Zen in Chengdu
This is one of the most satisfying and interesting places I've stayed in a city. Close to Wenshu Temple and a fun market and pedestrian street lined with tea "gardens", the hotel itself has beautiful, peaceful architecture and the staff are wonderful and very helpful. And it was an amazing value for the money and where we stayed. Very walkable area and close to great local hotpot places and bubble tea.

Nice staff, clean room, good breakfast. Only problem was my room beside cleaner's utility and they are making lots of noise talking and slamming door early in the morning.

Just lovely
A really lovely boutique hotel. The room was clean, comfortable and had some nice touches. The staff were friendly and the whole place had just a really nice oriental feel to it. Would definitely stay again!

Beautiful hotel, so-so location
Pros: helpful staff, beautiful hotel, comfy beds and huge, fluffy towels. Cons: local area is beautiful but completely dead at night. In the morning, you can hear people on the street very clearly.

Oasis in the heart of Chengdu
Buddha Zen is spectacular. It is located next to the Chengdu's largest temple in a complex full of traditional architecture. The service and breakfast are great and the room was beautifully decorated. The property is very stylish and embodies the beautiful aesthetic of traditional China. Can't recommend it enough.

Relaxing stay in a quieter part of chengdu
The hotel was beautifully styled and provided a nice sanctuary to come back to after day tours. The location is about a 10 minute walk to the subway but takes you through local city life in chengdu. There are an array of local restaurants and a convenience store nearby. There are also small markets nearby for all of your tourist knick knacks.
The hotel has a spa and I had a massage and a herbal bath. Both were of good quality and very reasonably priced compared to similar services in western countries.
Breakfast was more Asian style with some western options.

A very special experience
I booked it because it got exceptionally good reviews. I can say that it deserved them. It is a very special place. The hotel is newly built or renovated, very tastefully furnished and decorated. Our room was spatious and impeccably clean. The hotel staff is not like regular hotel staff, they are on a mission. The area it is located is very nice. We went to a vegetarian Buddhist restaurant near by. I highly recommend this hotel.

Good location with local style
Welcoming and helpful staff. The room was clean and comfortable with a balcony overlooking the street. The internal courtyard is lovely and calm and the art works add interest and character. Breakfast was disappointing.

Unique hotel in chengdu
Great location in the old part of chengdu, and in a car free zone. Surrounded by nice places to eat and close to the metro station. Breakfast is pretty good too - part buffet and part ala carte. Very friendly service

Great service and site
A beautiful temple-like setting. Selfless service. Loved it, would return. Only issues were a slight odour in our room (which isn’t uncommon in China TBH) and the suspicion that the Hong Kong tv wasn’t live but rather a recording.

Good hotel
Overall good hotel, right in the middle of lots of stores.
Excellent service from staff, English speaking skills about 80% very good for china standard.
The only thing to Say about improvement....is their windows, need to change them so street noice and cold weather don’t come into the room.
Also we could smell street food from our room...which is not bad actually :).
Overall worth staying there.

Real China Modernised.
We are an elderly well travelled couple. Buddhazen is a wonderful piece of architecture in an area that is very exciting.and very near the metro stop. The rooms are large but off an open courtyard which is very cold in the winter, IT IS NOT a vegetarian hotel but does have vegetarian options.Breakfast is limited for a western traveller . Wenshu temple is right opposite and has VEGAN food which is wonderful.I would highly recommend this hotel for anybody who wants a Chinese experience but best in spring and summer. some English spoken and staff very helpful.
