Upon arrival the hotel was closed, with no staff onsite. I as then advised by a neighbour that the hotel was not open from Sunday to Wednesday, and that there are numerous incidences of guests turning up and not being provided a room. Several other people in the town confirmed this, and it has been going on for some months. I subsequently had to book into another hotel locally. Wotif needs to investigate how this can happen

The Ross Hotel is not open and we had to drive over 120 kilometres to find accommodation. The hotel closed for accommodation in May 2020 but this is not reflected on the Expedia site. We had a confirmation from Expedia, arrived at the hotel, and were told they haven't accepted guests for 12 months. Something wrong in the "machine"

The hotel is not operational. I booked to stay on the 14 April 2021and still haven’t got my money back (4/5/21). Wotif can’t process refund because the owner won’t confirm that the hotel is not operational.

After receiving confirmation of my booking and travelling 150kms, I arrived to be told that they have not been doing any accomodation since the beginning of COVID, about 1 year ago. Late in the day and by myself I had to hunt around for accomodation during school holidays. Not impressed! Why was my booking confirmed?

I’m really cranky about this: The Ross Hotel IS NOT OPEN FOR ACCOMMODATION!!!! And hasn’t been for a year!!!!
I have emailed wotif but have had no reply.
My money has been taken from my account and not yet returned.
I WILL BE WRITING A REVIEW ABOUT wotif and if I am not refunded I WILL REPORT TO THE OMBUDSMAN!!!
A cranky customer!😖😖

The hotel was closed on the day of our booking which we did not know until we arrived. The phone rang out to a message and we had to find alternative accomodation at very short notice.

A country stay
Service from the staff was outstanding and great value for money. However breakfast was included in the price but there was no cereal or bread provided, even though we had booked in advance

A very warm welcome on arrival. Clean comfortable room at the top of the stairs. Facilities right next door. Electric blankets were turned on warming the bed. The manager called saying we left an item behind and was sending it on at no charge. Overall a great place to stay if your enroute to/from Hobart. Good value for money.

A lovely old-style hotel full of character. We had a clean, comfortable quiet room. In the bar downstairs we found a roaring fire and met friendly locals. For dinner we enjoyed melt-in-your-mouth lamb shanks in the dining room. The place was just what we were looking for at a great value price. Only down note: breakfast was very basic and there was no info re wifi in our room.

We booked a room with Garden and Church view. When we went into the room it has only a small window, facing the rear of the hotel. Only when I asked the front desk if we were given the wrong room, we were told that the room type we booked is not available, while we could have been informed at checkin. We were not offered a refund with the difference neither.
It's a very basic hotel as many other reviews mentioned, and as reflected from the price. There is absolutely nothing wrong of being basic - as long as you manage your expectation right and know what you are getting. Say for us we were only there for a night stopover so a clean and cheap place to stay is good enough. Though toilets and showers are shared but they are clean.
