Cozy, rustic and rural
Cosy and rural plaze built into the trees. Friendly staff and good food. Only 5 minutes drive from Santa Teresa and about 30 minutes from the Hidroeléctrica train station that goes to Machu Picchu. There is a nice river close to the hotel, which you can hear from the hotel.

Treehouse
Breakfast was amazing. The people that work/own it are so nice. But when they say ECO trust me it is!!! It’s like a giant treehouse. I loved it but not everyone likes treehouses.

We had booked two nights staying here for when we saw Machu Picchu. But we only ended up staying one night. We didn't realize that the train to get here was $32 each person, each way. So we spent one glorious night, got massages before dinner, and packed up the next morning. Had we had more days, we would've stayed here longer. It's beautiful, and peaceful.

Cool treehouse, but nothing to eat and but bugs
Cool Treehouse hotel out in the middle of Santa Teressa province. Cool concept but desk clerk was a very young kid who spoke zero english. They don't take credit cards, so make sure you have cash. Rooms have a huge open wall to see the river, but it lets alot of bugs in at night. They are supposed to have a "restaurant" but for some reason they weren't open the entire time we were there. Glad we had left overs before check in. The beds have a mosquito net that help against most bugs that fly, but it doesn't stop the ones that crawl from the ground onto your bed. We woke up in the middle of the night with a crazy spider beetle crawling on us. Had to sleep cocooned up. If you like camping, this is the place. Wifi only works in the common areas.

The view and birds are fantastic
NOTE THAT THIS HOTEL IS IN ST TERESA - research where it is and how to get there before you book! The base of the hotel is in small-town peru slum, but once you climb up the view is great. The dinner was fantastic. The owner clearly knows how to run a hotel and has a great vision, but sadly he was never there and his staff are not quite in sync with this vision. For much of the time there wasn't a staff member that spoke english available and we waited in reception for about 45 min before anyone came to see us (we only found reception because we came in with a group that had a guide that knew the place.) The view and the wildlife were fantastic and the food was great too (a previous reviewer mentioned that it was brought in from somewhere else... it was prepared within view of us).

Tree House style Glamping
Cool hotel, but keep in mind, some of the rooms do not have windows - which is great for experiencing nature, but nice to know before booking :)

Great lodge in the trees
We arrived at the lodge after a long day hiking Machu Picchu and a minor motorcycle incident. The staff was very quick to help us with a first aid kit and make sure we were OK before starting the check-in process. The staff also went above and beyond in helping us arrange travel to Pisac. The room was comfortable and very relaxing being surrounded by the trees and listening to the nearby river.

Yep, it's a little off the beaten track and isn't the easiest place to get to. That's okay, though, if you understand that before heading out there. It's a lovely lodge with great service and top notch tours. We did the Llactapata trek and their Machu Picchu tour and were very happy with both. If you have a few extra days and want to do some hiking and get a bit of jungle experience before Machu Picchu, I highly recommend it. It's a nice alternative to staying in Aguas Calientes.

Below expectation
Hotel is quite charming, quiet, in a lot of vegetation. However it does not offer all services promised during the booking on Expedia. Bed is a full size, not king size. There is no spring water bathtub, just a normal shower, hotel does not offer any kind of SPA service or room massage. Breakfast is just average. it is a nice hotel, but overpriced for offered services

Great staff, great stay, location iffy?
Staff is so helpful and great. But getting there is half the challenge and it's worth it. You could go to the Lodge and stay for a week and they could arrange travel plans for you and meals. It's a hike to town and the hours springs, or a taxi ride at least. Great Eco concept.

Great place, great concept
Nice little place off the beaten path. Make sure you follow directions and take the collective taxi for less money and not just a local dude acting like a taxi. Not near the town center, it's a 20 minute walk. And then 30 more minutes to the hot springs, or another short taxi ride. The staff is wonderful. They will make you dinner for a fee if you reserve it. Breakfast is included and great. They make wonderful food. The rooms are nice and clean. Hot water showers are not in the room but available in a cute area. Nice place to meet others. Open air lobby was pretty cool. The staff helped arrange fun events to do too. I'd stay again!

2/10 Poor

Very disappointed
No mention of the fact the only way to get to the hotel from Machu Picchu is either a 2-3 hour hike (not possible with kids or bags) or a train, which was fully booked. No cars, no taxi service, so we could not get to the hotel. Had to book another hotel at the last minute which was expensive and we were very lucky to get a room at all. DONT BOOK THIS HOTEL IF YOU THINK IT IS ANYWHERE CLOSE TO MACHU PICCHU. SHAME ON HOTELS.COM FOR NOT VETTING THIS CLOSER.

Unfortunately not worth the money
This place could be great. I came to no water, no internet, no top floor to the hotel. I know this is supposed to be a nature retreat, but it was stressful from arrival. Getting there is near impossible unless you know its exact location. If they charged half the price, sure hike to it yourself, but they charge a lot more than they should. For the price, someone at least from the train station should know where it is or have heard of it. There was construction in the top floor of the hotel while I was there, which started at 7am and ended at 4pm. They may get there eventually, but I paid ten percent of their price for a hut on the beach with a mosquito net and a lightbulb in Thailand and it was ten times better. Food was good, but the service was confused. I can't recommend this place in its current state.

best place in Santa Teresa
Located a short walk from town and within walking distance to the hot springs. We really enjoyed chatting with the owners and the food was excellent. The open rooms with the sound of the rushing river lulled us to sleep. Great opportunities for birding right from your room.

Great spot
Fabulous, off the beaten path, experience! Very helpful and friendly service! Amazing rooms! Beware: no ATM in Santa Teresa! No Visa accepted at the lodge, or at the train station! If you plan to use American cash, it will be rejected if it has the slightest tear or if it has writing on it!! This is a great lodge to spend a night or two at before or after visiting Machu Picchu, but it cannot be used as a base to explore Machu Picchu! There is only a train (or hike) between Santa Teresa and Aguas Calientes and the service is not frequent enough!

Embracing Peru
After spending four days on the Inka Trail in the amazing Andes mountains, EcoQuecha was perfect. Tique, aka Juan Carlos and his wife Janet are amazing hosts. We was picked up at the train station by a driver waiting for me. Upon arrival, we were greeting with passion fruit drinks on the veranda and freshly picked bananas. The sound of the river below, wind through the trees and the birds were utter delights. A few people were hungry so our hosts made us cheese and avocado sandwiches. They wanted to serve dinner at 8:30 but a few of us wanted to go to the hotsprings so they served it at 6:30 to suit our request. The dinner was lovely and delicious - trout, potatoes, veggies and a chocolate and banana dessert. Hosts had a cab driver pick us up to take us to the local hot springs 10 minutes away. It was absolutely delightful. They are open all night. Three large pools with a slight variation in temperature. So good on Inka Trail muscles. There are several verandas to hang out on, lovely chairs to relax in, hammocks to swing in. Dinners are served by candlelight with wine glasses and white napkins. Unfortunately for me, I got quite ill (turns out accd to docs here) from withdrawl of my anti altitude pills so I slept pretty much the whole next day except for when the hosts knocked on the door to check on me. They made me tea, brought me to the internet cafe, bought me electrolytes and insisted that I eat homemade chicken soup. 5 star in my book!
