Renaissance Johor Bahru Hotel
"The breakfast was very good. The Club Lounge range of cocktail needs improvement. Appreciate long island tea and bloody Mary. The room cleaning is good, but the toilet bowl has a strong unpleasant sewer smell even just after it has been cleaned. Perhaps housekeeping should use detergent with nice fragrant odour."
St. Giles Southkey
"Room is clean, gym is spacious with sufficient equipment to use. However, treadmill was quite wonky which can be dangerous. Will be good for staff to take a look at the treadmill and have regular maintenance. Buffet spread was good but could have more varieties. Overall the room was clean and nice, spacious and extremely comfortable"
R&F Princess Cove by FUJU & 5mins to ClQ
"The room is clean and the TV has apps for movies and dramas."
Sheraton Johor Bahru
"Everything was great, except that the room type had a connecting room. The soundproof was not that great as we had guest on the other room. It wasn’t bad but do take note that if you are sensitive to noise you could hear some noise next door."
LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort
"Breakfast buffet - most items are cold - which is a disappointment . Rooms (themed) are very very cool and the gift in the kids safe is excellent, Shopping centre next door is handy for local food etc. Generally juts needs a bit of updating - but great for a 1 or 2 night stay"
Space Residency by A----Walk 100m to KSL
"The unit is managed by The Avery Management located on 2nd floor next to Tower A Lift Lobby. The Avery Management staff are young friendly & helpful, They are willing to go the extra to help. Space Residency is well located. Will revommend to consider units maanged by Avery Management."
DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Johor Bahru
"Free parking, staff service excellent. Surrounding hotel under construction so location messy not so nice"
Holiday Inn Johor Bahru City Centre by IHG
"Just next to CIQ. Will be glad that you are so close to the customs and can just dump the bag before going to shop in KSL or Southkey. In July 2026 the City Square is undergoing renovations so there is not much to shop so take note of that. Everything should be back to normal when the new MRT station opens that links to Singapore. The hotel is modern, new and very welcoming. Did not have breakfast at the hotel but went to the old town to have my nasi lemak and hainanese coffee."
Atelier Hotel Permas
"Cozy place to stay and spend relax. Highly recommended at an affordable price."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Masai
- Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit Masai is during May, October, and November, when hotel prices tend to be lower. For those looking to explore the key landmarks, along with the rich cultural and historical offerings of the area, a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is recommended. This allows visitors to fully appreciate the friendly atmosphere, enjoy local dining options, unwind in cafés, and indulge in some shopping—making it a great value for money for anyone on a budget. With the possibility that prices may drop during these months, Masai offers a fantastic opportunity for an enriching experience without breaking the bank.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals to Masai on Hotels.com, visit the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections, where you may find discounted rates on hotels as your travel date approaches. Consider enabling email alerts or push notifications to stay updated on flash sales and special promotions, helping you seize opportunities to save. Additionally, Smart Shopping is a valuable comparison tool available through the app, allowing you to compare hotel prices and amenities. By utilising these features, you're more likely to be notified if rooms become available or prices drop, making your last-minute getaway easier.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates could help you save on your stay at a hotel in Masai. For those seeking a distinctive experience, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised touch and sometimes offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher side, we may suggest alternative dates that could be more affordable, helping you secure a better deal.
- Consider your location: Opting for accommodation closer to major attractions or city centres can provide convenience, but it often comes with a higher price tag. For more budget-friendly options, you might consider hotels in less central areas or neighbourhoods, striking a balance between cost and accessibility to the sites you wish to visit. Independent hotels located further afield are usually more likely to be affordable and can offer a more authentic experience.
