The towering Black Church stands as a testament to Saxon heritage, and the nearby Tampa Cable Car offers spectacular mountain views. Climb the White and Black Towers for panoramic vistas of red-tiled roofs against Carpathian backdrops. Cosy taverns serve traditional Romanian dishes alongside Saxon-influenced fare throughout the pedestrian-friendly district. The highly walkable historic centre restricts vehicles, making exploration a pleasure. Boutique hotels in converted medieval buildings offer stone walls and wooden beams with modern comforts.

The compact centre is best explored on foot, with local buses connecting to outer districts when you're ready to venture beyond.
Centrul Vechi
Centrul Vechi treats history buffs to a medieval wonderland where cobblestone streets wind through Romania's Gothic masterpiece. The towering Black Church spires and pastel baroque facades around Council Square set the scene for travel magic. Rossmarkt Haus
"Our welcome to this FABULOUS hotel was wonderful, Ezster, the amazing owner, greeted us, upon arrival, carried my heavy suitcase up the stairs, talked with us about my personal history to my Romanian roots, and explained how everything worked at the hotel and the breakfasts that are served daily. She went out of her way to make us as Americans feel at home. The room with a mini refrigerator was spotlessly cleaned and welcomed us with a bowl of candy, coffee, tea, water, and fresh fruit. We had an amazing balcony that looked directly at the close proximity to the magnificent Black Church. We were so close to the main square of Old Town and we got to explore the entire city on foot. Such a fabulous stay thanks to Ezster!!!!"
Casa Chitic Hotels
"Great location, very nice and clean rooms, great breakfast buffet and excellent service! Thank you!"
Casa Cranta Hotel
"Nice room, friendly helpful staff. Only problem, no elevator! If you're a senior, quite the chore carrying your luggage up 3 flights of stairs."
Casa Wagner Brasov
"Fantastic location right in the main square of Old Town; plenty of restaurants, bars and sites in walking distance. Friendly checkin, and help carrying bags up the stairs. (Note, if your room is on the top floor it can be a hike after a long day, but the comfortable beds are worth it!) I had a beautiful view from my windows, and waking early to watch the sunrise on the rooftops and hear the church bells was an experience. Modern bathrooms, remote control A/C, and an onsite restaurant/bar. There’s a convenience store a few doors down if you forgot anything, and a 5 minute walk from the main bus stop and tour pickup spots. My only regret was not staying longer!"
Hilton Garden Inn Brasov
"Very nice and convenient. Clean, new hotel with ample parking and breakfast. We enjoyed our stay"
Hotel Ambient
"Fantastic staff very helpful and knowledgeable. The location of the hotel is perfect for accessing the old town where there are numerous places to eat and drink."
Kronwell Brasov Hotel
"Excellent hotel and facilities. Breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of food options including local Romanian products. The restaurant staff catered to our nut allergy very well which was much appreciated. Reception staff was also very helpful and the check in and check out were both very smooth. Great location next to the train station."
Swissôtel Poiana Brasov
"Great hotel nice stuff and very cool place"
Belfort Hotel
"Hotel staff were very accommodating and friendly. You can have breakfast at the on-site resteraunt and there is a bar downstairs that is easy to acess and staff were very friendly there.A small lounge is also right next the bar. Rooms were very nice and clean, shower was also very clean. The room has a mini bar with lots of different options. The hotel is just a ten minute walk to the city center and the Black Church. There are plenty of resteraunts there or you can walk a short distance to others in the area. Uber will drive you to the hotel from the airport for around 8-10 US. I found both Uber drivers to be very friendly. The hotel is on the same side as the cable car going up the mountain and is anout a 20 minute walk. Lovely stay and will stay here again when I return."
