Enjoyable stay in Fortaleza
The Amuarama Hotel is spacious with live greenery everywhere, a nice pool, a large rotating staff always ready to help (English not strong though). The front desk does not make change even from a 50 real note ($10), and the local ATMs need a Brazilian id to get money out, even the "24 hour" system which is supposed to be international. Excellent buffet breakfast, varied, fresh fruit, juices, never a problem with the food which is always fresh and covered from occasional flies and the rare small mosquito, dinner buffet also good and varied, nothing we didn't enjoy, and prices very reasonable compared to US. Comfortable beds and everything clean, adjustable A/C. Refrigerator in room, huge Carrefour grocery/hypermarket less than 5 minutes away though across a main street. The bathroom door knob is a challenge to turn to open the door from the inside. If you want English news, the only channel we found is CGTN, the Chinese Global Television Network, which uses native English-language announcers and reporters and emphasizes economic news, US included. Close to our conference but a fair distance from the city center and points of interest, though taxis and ubers instantly available at a very reasonable cost. They handle large groups as well as individual bookings. Basically good value and a good place to stay, and the staff work hard to make sure you are happy.

Very Good !
The place was great in optimal location across street from national bus lines and next to airport across street from huge airport parcel of land only a 6 minute drive around it on highway to arrive at the terminal. There was water leak in restroom but the staff were very accomodating and quickly switched us to better room. The pool was great. They need to take better measures against mosquitoes to get on par with US standards though they worked hard to keep the bugs away. Their shuttle service is out & restaurant only til 7pm & room service only til midnighy due to covid. They really need to get their shuttle back on the road ASAP. Overall they were great a very good place I would return to.

Adequate
The hotel was well-suited to our needs. We had to catch a flight early the next morning. I found it somewhat interesting that the shuttle ride was included free from the airport to the hotel but only available from the hotel to the airport for an additional fee

Good option for bus station
Basic hotel that is walking distance to bus station so very useful if you are getting an early or late bus from Fortaleza. About a 20 minute drive from airport. Hotel offers a free breakfast which was fairly good standard. Some English spoken by some front desk members. Hotel is very dated and showing it’s age in the design and rooms.

Airport hotel
Nice hotel close to airport with free shuttle bus for normal hours. Out of hours best to get Uber. Also a few local shops and a fast food restaurant

2/10 Poor

Noisy an no one on staff speaks English
Very noisy and poor sound insulation. Could hear conversations in the hall. There is bus terminal across the street and a lot of noisy traffic on the street that I could hear in the room. There is no one on the staff who speaks English.

6/10 Good

Good for business trips, but could use a cleaning
This was the second time I've stayed here in the last year, and for some reason did not enjoy it as much as last time. Maybe it was my room placement (being in the first hall, I woke up to groups of people loudly getting up early each morning - didn't hear that last time in one of the back halls). And I know it wasn't particularly fancy, but it seemed a bit dingier this time: e.g., the bathroom door latch was taped back with duct tape, presumably because it would otherwise jam. And they put me (1 person) in a room with three twin beds crammed next to each other - probably unnecessary. Anyways, don't want to completely wave people off from here - the staff is incredibly helpful, the onsite restaurant and breakfast are pretty good, and the location (across from the Rodoviaria) is very good if you're not in Fortaleza for the beaches - centrally-located, and very easy to find or give directions to if you need to run around town a lot. And, it's the closest decent hotel to the airport. I would recommend for anyone who just needs somewhere to crash comfortably before a flight or bus trip, but probably not the best choice for a vacation.

Incomoda, atrapalha e desorganiza o quarto; 4. Poucas tomadas, principalmente próximo a cama.
