The Anchorage Hotel

The Anchorage Hotel

8/10 Good
"Helpful and friendly host. Hotel has seen better days but new owner is working hard to bring hotel up to scratch and our family room was clean, comfortable and very spacious for a family of four. Tv reception was intermittent but we were only there for one night to catch the ferry so no bother. Continental breakfast was ok although the croissants didn’t look very continental but the staff were lovely, offering to fill our water bottle for the journey. Beautiful views from breakfast room window. The hotel is in a great spot for scenic boardwalks in area. Good value and very convenient stopover for the ferry."

The Boathouse Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"I enjoyed a wonderful stay here. My room was bright and had a window that actually opened wide enough to let the sea breeze in. The hospitality tray had ample coffee which is a rare find for a coffee lover and I could sign in to Netflix to finish watching a series i had started watching at home! I was made feel like family even though my stay was short. Will definitely be back"

"We had a wonderful stay at Craig Eithin bed and breakfast. Dave and Debbie are marvellous hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for them; there was such a selection for breakfast and the room was most comfortable and kept very clean. We would certainly recommend Craig Eithin either as a stop over while going to or returning from Ireland or just to have a few days away, which was the reason for us staying there."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Holyhead

  1. Book for the cheapest times: Visiting Holyhead on a budget is a great value for money, especially during January, February, or November, when hotel prices may drop to lower prices. For those keen to explore the area's rich landmarks, history and culture – including attractions such as the ferry, sea, port, gardens, islands, relaxing ambience, scenery, secluded spots, birdwatching and scenic walks – a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is ideal.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: Hotels.com offers travellers a chance to find attractive hotel deal opportunities. To search for last-minute getaways to Holyhead, you may discover savings by visiting the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals section on Hotels.com, where discounted rates could be available near your travel date. You could also enable email alerts or push notifications to stay informed of flash sales and special promotions, ensuring you’re updated on room availability. Additionally, the Smart Shopping comparison tool available via the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, so you’re more likely to see the ideal option when prices drop.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may differ based on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and time of year, so being flexible with your dates could help you save on your stay at a Holyhead hotel. For travellers seeking a distinctive experience, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised touch and, on occasion, offer better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your selected dates is above or below the average. If the price appears higher, we might suggest more affordable dates to help you potentially find a better deal.
  4. Consider your location: Remaining closer to major attractions or city centres may provide convenience, yet it usually tends to be more expensive. For more affordable rates, consider hotels in less central neighbourhoods, striking a balance between price and accessibility to your intended destinations. You might consider independent hotels further afield, which can offer a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
