The breakfast buffet was extensive with a great range of local and home made produce and this was all followed by a mesmerising choice of hot food which included local produce. There was cake on hand all day along with fresh tea and coffee and the hosts couldn't do enough to ensure we had a great stay.

I was frankly amazed at the quality of Briarfields immediately I walked through the front door. Everything looks freshly decorated, neutral colours, spotless carpeting... My room (No.8) on the top floor looked like it had been decorated yesterday, a small fridge with fresh milk and a bottle of water, comfortable bed, good quality clock/alarm. The bathroom was spotless.

A family of four we stayed in room 1 there was more than enough room with a double bed, single bed and bunk bed. The room was light clean and there was a TV, DVD player, kettle in the room with tea coffee and even a bottle of water and 2 bottles of fruit shoot for the kids. There were also plenty of hangers in the wardrobe. We had our own bathroom across the hall and the owner Dawn could not have been nicer or more accommodating. There was a huge choice for breakfast and lots of ideas for things...

Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly time to visit Torquay is during January, February, and November, when hotel prices are typically lower. To truly appreciate the town’s historical landmarks and cultural offerings, a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is recommended. During your visit, you can enjoy the charming seaside atmosphere, friendly locals, and quaint small-town vibe. Don't miss the picturesque port, where you can unwind with cocktails, or explore local attractions such as the spa and zoo. This affordable getaway promises great value for money, allowing you to indulge in delightful cheese tastings and soak in the rich history of the area.
Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To explore last-minute deals for hotels in Torquay, visit the Dealsopens in new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may discover discounted rates as your travel date approaches. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool available via the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you're more likely to see the best options. With these features, you'll be promptly notified of any changes, making it easier to book your last-minute getaway.
Be flexible with dates: Prices may vary depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and time of year, so flexibility with your dates might help you save on your stay in a Torquay hotel. For those seeking distinctive experiences, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised touch and occasionally offer better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average, and if it appears to be on the higher side, we may suggest more affordable dates to potentially help you find a better deal.
Consider your location: Hotels closer to the city centre usually tend to be more expensive; however, with Torquay’s excellent public transport links, you may find an independent hotel further afield that is still well connected and more likely to be affordable. For those wishing to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
