Shower in Bogota
I actually arrived the following day due to a delayed flight, so I just came in took a shower and had breakfast - that was ok... shower didn't have hardly any hot water (shower head heater with exposed wires) and no heat in the room.

2/10 Poor

Not a hotel but converted house
The hotel was overbooked so my group was split among neighboring places. Almost no hot water in shower with exposed wires above it. Spiral staircase to get up with luggage. Only redeeming factor was the very helpful and nice lady at front desk. The nearby plaza is frequented by drug dealers, police with dogs patrolling it. Not the safest part of town.

Candelaria
This is my third time in this hotel. Obviously I like it, but it is not for everybody, and so in the neighborhood is in. It's a very small hotel, very clean, in the middle of a very old, chaotic area. Perfect for me.

4/10 Fair

a two star reasonable european hotel
its value for money but utterly basic -I had a large room with a bathroom and shower -the hotel was full so I was offered an annexe -its at the highest point in enchanting candeleria but the rooms have no views except a dodgy street -the place fills with students in day time in plaza cherro de quedo; a very charming ancient spot where bogota was founded in close proximity -at night its another story -breakfast and staff are lovely -especially Javier and betty -who try to guide maximally -there were some noisy austrailians in the hotel who caused a ruckus 3am at night but the owner rang to apologise to me next day -how very courteous .I was out mostly as candeleria is just one unique experience in itself I used TM too once it was quite an adventure otherwise you need taxis in this place and its quite an elevated spot so expect strenuous walks uphill or just use taxis -candeleria is just superlative and hotel was reasonable too .ciao

Central, quiet and helpful
The rooms are clean and comfortable with everything you need and it all works. The staff are very helpful and will arrange tours, taxis etc. They make a point of being very quiet in the morning which was a pleasant surprise. I'll go back when I return to Bogota.

More of a nice hostel than a hotel
The hotel staff was incredibly nice and accommodating. The rooms were very comfortable and had a lot of personality. I would try and stay on the higher floors if possible. I would categorize this more of a really nice hostel than hotel. The area was sketchy, but no more sketchy than most of the surrounding area. Almost no cab driver was able to find it since it was tucked away on a side street. I would be very careful walking around the surrounding area at night, but overall it was a good stay. Be sure to brush up on your Spanish since only a couple of the staff members speak other languages.

Overall Excellent!
This place has a lot of charm and is located in the heart of La Calendaria-- exactly where we wanted to be. Very lovely staff! If I return to Bogota, this is definitely the place I will stay.

Comfortable, quiet, good location
An old building in an old and very picturesque part of town, but cleverly and effectively renovated into a really quite charming small hotel. Very comfortable bed, loads of covers for those chilly nights (and an effective space heater if you wish), large and clean bathroom with shower, small desk, good wifi. Breakfast: fresh cut fruit, fresh squeezed juice, fresh bread, eggs cooked on the spot to your liking, and coffee of course. Staff totally helpful. Small markets very close. Surprisingly quiet at night. The walk to downtown is quick and easy. Guidebook says not to walk alone after dark; I didn't put that to the test, but daytime the streets have lots of students and I felt totally safe.

A great introduction to Bogotá
Great little hotel run by some extremely friendly and helpful staff. Lovely design and decor. Our room unfortunately didn't have a window which was its greatest downfall. Also, we only managed one hot shower over the three days. Apart from that, the place is amazing. Breakfast is great too, fills you up for the day. The hotel is extremely safe and we didn't have any problems in the surrounding area.

nice location, nice people, cold shower
The people were very sweet and the hotel is in a great location. I had two issues with my stay. First, they told us there was hot water in the shower but there was none. Second, the room I reserved was not available when I checked in but I received no notice about it until 7 pm that night (2 hours after I checked in). I couldn't have found another place if I wanted to. The room I stayed in was a lower price and also nice but, it was on the main floor, right next to the kitchen and only had curtains across the windows so there was not real privacy. However, I did really like the location, just not the room that I got.

Nice but be a bit careful with the area!
We arrived at Chorro de Quevedo around midnight and it was very difficult to find. We frankly found our walk around quite unsafe, the building number was faded and there such sign indicating it was a hotel. The first night we stayed downstairs next to the dining room which was very noisy in the morning. For the second night we were moved to another building and a much better room however. The overall stay was pretty good and the support staff were friendly. There were lots of nice sites around but next time I would book to stay at Zona T.

Quirky
Quirky little place in the old city. I had stayed on the northern end of the city in a nicer room for less money, but this is close to all the museums, etc, and the square is an interesting melange.

Pleasant Surprise
We actually enjoyed this stay. The staff was great and always willing to help. Location is about a 10 minute walk the main part of downtown Bogota. For Bogota standards, this place is good. The only con is that it was cold at night and there is no heat. The area is a bit sketchy, but there are plenty of police walking the streets at all times it seemed. Just don't walk by yourself and keep on the main road and you will be fine. Go to Monserrat and the main plaza de bolivar during the day.

Charming, great location, and fantastic staff
Loved it! It was quaint, charming, and right off of the plaza. It's within walking distance to many local attractions. The staff is very helpful if you know spanish, and there are even a few that do speak english. (Blandy helped us quite a bit with our horrible spanish!) The room was cleaned daily and the bed was very comfortable. It gets a little chilly at night and there is no heat but ample blankets and hot water in the shower. The area is a little loud at night but a lot of fun and I can sleep thru anything! There is an attendant all night at the hotel with the front door locked. My sister and I felt very safe always. Amazing breakfast with freshly made juice and the best coffee ever. It's a great place to fall in love with Bogota!

Something cute and special in Bogota
It's hard to find words that give justice to describing how charming this little jewel of a B&B this is. I don't even know if B&B is an appropriate label...that unjustly gives the connotation of a laid-back country locale. Instead, you're in the midst of the vibrant and cultural centre Bogota. I read "bohemian" as a description...BINGO While I only stayed for one evening at CdQ, the hospitality was such that it made me immediately wonder why on earth did I not lengthen my stay in Bogota. There's so much attention to and love of detail that the owner has given this place...decorations, vibe, hues, and fresh flowers (and we're not talking daisies or carnations). The real treat is the friendliness of the staff and owner. Monica the hostess was an extreme pleasure to talk with from the moment of check-in all the way to my very early check-out. A great place that will forever be etched in my heart. The location is perfect and

Wow! Nice People!
My daughter and I stayed at el Chorro for 2 nights. It is a beautiful, small, elegant place in an incredibly convenient location within Candelaria. Most noteworthy - really remarkably friendly people! We´ll definitely be back - the Chorro is our new home in Bogota!

Felt like home
We loved staying here. We had the top level apartment with magnificent views of Bogata and Monserrate. The staff really care and were amazing and have become friends. Great location, good breakfast. There must have been about 300 roses in the foyer on our first stay here. Can't say enough good things. You should stay here even if you can't get the Grandillo suite.

I Highly Recommend Hotel Chorro de Quevedo
Hotel Chorro de Quevedo is a great place to spend your time in Bogota. The staff is friendly and very helpful and willing to go the extra mile to make your stay enjoyable. The rooms are very cozy and cute. Several look out onto the most historic area of Bogota with a view of the skyscrapers and mountains in the background. The great location, nice rooms, and friendly staff make this place a must for your next trip to Colombia!

I truly enjoyed my 3 days and 2 nights stay at Chorro de Quevedo hotel: the warm welcome and hospitality, homemade breakfast, and the helpful and resourceful staffs. I could not find words to describe the Granadillo suite; it just took my breath away.
