"The staff were very helpful and polite. Really had a great stay, very spacious and location is good."
Shangri-La Chengdu
"Generally ok, but the hotel itself was old though well maintained. The room I stayed in, the plumbing for the shower area was not too good as water flowed v slowly. The hairdryer was also fixed to the drawer so I had to be in the toilet to use it. Otherwise all good. They also allowed me to switch from twin room (I booked wrongly) to a room with queen bed. As it was my birthday, the hotel also prepared a cake and decor for me.. thanks!"
JW Marriott Hotel Chengdu

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Chengdu
- Book for the cheapest times: Chengdu offers affordable travel options on a budget, with January, February, and September being particularly attractive due to lower prices for hotels. A stay of at least 3 to 4 days is ideal for exploring the city's key landmarks, historical sites and cultural attractions, including temples, museums, and monuments. The city provides great value for money for those who appreciate a blend of history and culture during their sightseeing tours.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: You may discover great hotel deals to Chengdu by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window section on Hotels.com, where discounted rates could be available near your travel date. For last-minute offers, check the Last-Minute Deals section and enable email alerts or push notifications to be informed of flash sales. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool is a comparison feature available via the app that helps travellers compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you're more likely to see opportunities for a last-minute getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may vary depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and time of year, so being flexible with your dates might help you save when staying in a Chengdu hotel. For those seeking distinctive accommodations, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised experience and could offer better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we will indicate whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher side, we may suggest more affordable dates to help you potentially find a better deal.
- Consider your location: Hotels near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive. However, thanks to Chengdu's excellent public transport links, you might find a more affordable independent hotel further afield that remains well connected. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
