Bamboo Garden Hotel is an oasis in Beijing.
After a long and tiring flight to China, we arrived at the Bamboo Garden Hotel and were greeted by very friendly and welcoming staff. We arrived two hours before check in time but to our relief, we were shown straight to our rooms. The room was decorated in a traditional style. It was very clean and comfortable. The hotel is situated amongst the hutongs. It was originally the house of a wealthy merchant and traditional features have been preserved to give a distinctively Chinese feel. The gardens are tranquil and full of bird song. It is a welcome haven from the busy city which seems very far away. We very much enjoyed the food in the hotel restaurant. The staff were helpful, organising taxis for us, providing an earlier than scheduled breakfast when we needed to make an early morning departure etc.

Mix of traditional architecture and modern amenities to comply with new government requests to conserve water and power. Beautiful garden area and carved furniture even in my economy room. Some things require investigating; the quilts for my bed were stored away inside a cupboard. Reprogrammable safe in the room for locking up valuables. Not all the staff speaks English but they make the effort to understand and meet your needs. I needed a taxi at 3:00 am to make my flight out, and several staff were waiting in the dark at the check-out desk to help me.

Schönes kleines Hotel in den Hutongs
Das Hotel liegt idyllisch in den Hutongs. Der Garten ist eine grüne, ruhige Oase mitten in Beijing. Die Zimmer waren ausrechend groß, mit Wasserkocher, Kühlschrank und wurden regelmäßig gereinigt. Eine Mitarbeiterin sprach englisch. Das Restaurant im Hotel können wir auch empfehlen obwohl wir nur einmal da gegessen haben. Es ist preislich und auch von der Freundlichkeit und Qualität o.k. Geldautomat und kleine Geschäfte befinden sich in der nächsten Umgebung.

また是非泊まりたいホテルです！
予約時にいろいろあったからだけでなく、フロントの対応が中国にしてはかなり良い。英語・中国語がある程度出来れば問題なし。昔ながらの胡同（路地）の中にあり、庶民的な雰囲気も味わえる。伝統的な四合院の造りで、雰囲気もとても良い。地下鉄８号線開通で、ホテルからの移動も大変良くなった。

バンブーガーデンホテルに泊まってみました！
ゴールデンウイークに北京へ一人旅で来ましたが、故宮へ最後の日に行こうと思っていたらなんとその日が休館。月曜日が休館と知らなくて今回リベンジで、３月１９日から２１日の３日間とはいっても、夕方に来て、次の日故宮見学、さらに次の日の朝帰るという短い滞在でした。以前、近くに泊まり、鼓楼大街駅の近くは知っていたのでそこから近いこのバンブーガーデンホテルを選びました。少し歩けば商店があり、后海と前海という湖？に歩いて行くことができます。途中の風景は昔なつかしの中国という感じです。なにより地下鉄のアクセスがよいです。値段は安く泊まりましたが、ちゃんとバスタブのあるお風呂がついていて、お水も一本サービス、ポットもありました。家具も中華風で素敵でした。フロントにモーニングコールを頼みに行ったら、そんなに早い飛行機ならタクシーを呼ばなくて大丈夫かと心配もしてくれました。

good stay for single traveler
It was a fancy Chinese style hotel. not a western style. It was a great joy to stay. The staff in the front can speak English very well. No problem to communicate. The location is so so. Close to Metro and accessible by walk to ShiChaHai (15 min). I was stayed in a single room. Although the bed and room is tight, the bathroom is good enough.

poor service
WiFi available but only allowed use on one device. Not allowed on two device. Location very secluded. Front gate very hard to find. Hide behind other apartment in small dark alley so taxi not willing to enter and have to carry luggage walk 300m quite far to the front gate. Quite scary to walk at night. Early morning to book taxi the staff is not willing and keep telling me to take the mrt but I am foreigner not familiar. When call for taxi have to wait a long time due to poor location of hotel not easy to get one

普通のホテルに飽きた人向きの宿
周辺は飲食店もあり便利。ホテルのある胡同は暗くなると人通りは少なめ。八達嶺長城や明十三陵行きバスの発着する特勝門も徒歩圏内（道沿いに商店がないため、暗くなってからの歩きはお勧めできない）。ホテル内は独特の雰囲気がある。ただし、宿泊した部屋はオーソドックスなもので機能的、新しい建物のようだった。

Great location in the city, easy to get to by subway. Room is good. A bit strange regarding their wireless internet policy: i could only connect one device, front desk claimed that this policy is not up to hotel, but rather a police bureau policy. That does not seem true to me.

Themed hotel in classical Chinese Garden style
Good location close to Drum/Bell Tower. Fantastic garden and themed rooms in a hutong environment, when we looked out our window all we saw were trees despite being in the middle of Beijing. Its a little hard to find (including for the Beijing cabbie) but well worth it!

伝統を活かした胡同の老舗ホテル
20年前に北京に留学していた時にその存在を知り、これまでに少なくとも2回宿泊したなじみのホテルですが、この間の北京の大きな変化にもかかわらず、昔ながらの雰囲気で今回も迎えてくれました。ロケーションは地下鉄2号線鼓楼大街駅から徒歩10分前後と良好ですが、大通りから一歩入った胡同（路地裏）に位置し、正直こんなところに外国人にも人気の有名ホテルがあるのかと不安になった頃に、入口の門が見えてきます。敷地はかつての四合院の屋敷を利用したもので、清末のラストエンペラーの頃に大臣をつとめた盛宣懐という高官がかつて住んだという由来があります。フロントやレストラン、客室棟の各建物は敷地内に独立して配置され、その間を庭石や噴水、それにホテル名の由来となった竹林などの瀟洒な中庭が埋めています。天候が悪い時は移動がやや大変かも知れませんが、滞在中は好天にめぐまれてホテルの中で気持ちの良い散策気分を味わえました。室内は伝統的な中国家具が配置された重厚なインテリアで、一人では十分すぎるほどの広さ。以前泊まった時はシャワーしか使えませんでしたが、今回の部屋はバスタブもあり、ゆったりと快適にすごせました。北京の定宿として、また来ようと思った今度の旅行でした。

北京満喫、おもてなしを感じないのがおもてなし。
今回は3回目。もてなしをほとんど感じないのがもてなし。勿論必要なサービスはきちんとしてます。気兼ね無しに3泊滞在しました。顧客のほとんどは欧米人で、シンプルな感覚をお求めの方にはお薦め。豪華とかお求めの方、よいしょされたい方には不向きでしょう。普通の人々が生活してい胡同（路地、横町）の中にあるので、お世辞にも周辺が綺麗とはいえませんが、清朝から文革期まで有力者が住んだ屋敷ですので、中国を訪れたなという実感は満点です。狭い胡同をだいぶ入りますので、タクシー を呼ぶのはおそらくできません。少し中国慣れか度胸を要します。

A cute place to stay near a good part of town
We saw a lot of what others have said about Bamboo Garden. It's in an old hutong, which is pretty cool, but depending on your room location, you may be looking at a neighboring high-rise apartment block, which cuts down on the charm. The restaurant isn't the best, but there are a lot of great eating options near by. It's a great place to stay if you want a hotel experience that has more character than your average place. I really struggled with was the internet at the hotel, however. Each room is only allowed one device to access the internet and the wireless signal in our room was exceptionally weak. If you _need_ the internet on your own devices, this might not be the best option.

Excellent location! Clean, pleasant room. Very nice and helpful staff at reception! The rest of the staff was a little less friendly..... I was awaken by the room-service staff at 10:30 AM to clean the room, when I said I was still asleep they left, and did not come back, so the room was not made. This was OK with me, but I wanted an additional bottle of water the next day (there are two complementary bottles of water in the room, and I assume that when room-service comes to clean the room, they replace the ones that have been drunk) I was refused!

Hôtel Bamboo
Les plus - Très belle hôtel, avec cour intérieure très jolie, décoration chinoise très réussi, Les moins - Notre chambre était étroite, personnelle pas très souriant et pour le dernier jour pas possible de laisser les valises en sécurité, ils sont juste protégé par un filet jaune à coté de la réception aux vues de tout le monde, aux risques et périls, n'importe qui peut les prendre, il n'y a même pas de ticket pour justifier le nombre de valise, bref vraiment nul !!! Dommage cette hôtel a de vrais atout.

Great Surprise
This was a wonderful alternative to your typical sterile "airport hotel". The gardens are beautiful and quiet, the neighborhood is in a fabulous location. The staff in the business center, although they had limited English, were very helpful in helping us change a plane ticket. We would have stayed here longer if we didn't have business elsewhere.

Hotellet ligger sentralt og fredeligt til i et hutongområde mellom subway stasjonen Guloudajie og sjøområdet ved Houhai. Det er mest et boligkvarter, så det er ikke så mye liv rundt hotellet, til gjengjeld er det stille og fredelig. Innenfor er det en fantastisk hage med bambusskog, springvann og pavillioner! Når man sitter på terassen og spiser frokost høres bare fuglesang og rislende vann. Rommene er nydelig innrettet i gammel kinesisk stil. Absolutt et hotell å anbefale!
