Nice stay, shame about the view
Had a lovely overnight stay with the wife at the Parkgate Cardiff. Excellent location near Central Station and just off St Mary's Street with all its pubs and restaurants. Room was lovely and clean, although we were on the 4th floor, the window in the room looked like it could do with replacing, was draughty and dated with a very limited view towards the city centre. Breakfast in the morning was amazing though. Would stay there again and hope for a better view next time.

Beware for random charge by the night shift team
We had a good stay at the park gate. This was our 2nd visit. We requested feather free pillows and upon the arrival the lady at reception didn't know so asked a colleague who confirmed they were all foam which was fine. The rooms themselves are all lovely. We did find some hair in the shower left from previous persons but apart from that the room was spotless. We found it hard to regulate the room temp one minute was boiling the next was cold. Final then on checkout we had noticed that we had received a £185 charge on our card. I asked the lady at checkout why and she was not able to answer so called over her manager Richard. Richard proceeded to tell us the night shift accidentally charged us and that the refund would be issued in 2 to 3 days. The worst part about it is the word sorry didn't leave any of the staffs mouths they just said thanks for understanding. If you have made a mistake guys. Apologize it doesn't take much. If I was the owner of this hotel I would reconsider my reception team as they have poor knowledge of the hotel and lack etiquette

Weekend break
Very well placed but no parking. Reception staff did recommend the train station parking which was fine. Lovely helpful staff and generally a good hotel.
