Lovely hotel! Highly recommend.
Beautiful hotel in a great location, easy to walk around the city. We stayed in one of the lofts, which had a lovely view of the canal. Breakfast was included and delicious. They have thought of all the little touches to make your stay special.

Hotel The Craftsman Lives Up to its Reputation
Our room the Airplane Maker was just cool. Old airplanes parts turned into useable room fixtures made it unique. There was even a propeler hanging from a wall . A booklet described where all the pieces came from. Heated floor in the bathroom was nice too. Bed was comfortable. View(we were on the top floor 4) was nice too overlooking the Singel Canal.
The staff went out of their way to be helpful, from having our room availible a little early, to giving us a tour of the public facilities, to watching our luggage after we checked out, so we could go to one more musuem before leaving. It was a really great place and location to stay. We walked everywhere in the historic district.

Lovely and very cool!
Excellent, cool, tiny hotel! The room was really cool and definitely added to our travel experience. It was clean, big enough for four (it had a room upstairs) and the beds were great. Breakfast was incredible and the staff were beyond lovely. Make sure the hotel works for you if you have accessibility issues but it was perfect for us. There's a small red light street right behind it. Didn't both of but families with kids might want to know. We just didn't walk down that street. Lovely hotel and experience and we'd definitely go back!

Easy walk from the train station and convenient to the tram stop. Delicious breakfast, impeccably clean and very uniquely decorated. Perfect location for walking to the Anne Frank house or taking a canal tour. We loved the staff and our too short time in Amsterdam.

In-room amenities and services at this hotel are amazing, on par with all five star hotels I’ve stayed at. Breakfast is classic Dutch and delicious. The best part of the hotel is the lovely staff, who are always available should you need any help and are so so kind. This hotel was the highlight of my trip

8/10 Very good
7 Jun 2024
I was in the Miller room in June 2024. The Craftsmen is located in a great location. It combines old-world charm and modern amenities. The staff are all great as is the included breakfast. Finally, you get a memorable parting gift.
However, I gave this hotel only 4 stars because of several issues that should not occur in such an expensive hotel:
- You can hear people outside the hotel quite easily even if you are on the top floor. Better window insulation could help if it’s permitted for historical buildings.
- The stairwell is very narrow even though it is not the worse I saw in Amsterdam. The hotel also has a tiny 1-person elevator. However, persons with mobility issues and/or obese people should avoid this hotel (this probably applies to all the hotels in the historical district)
- Some cleaning supplies were left in the room from previous occupants
- Miller room has many low beams and doorways. You WILL hit your head several times if you are over 6’2”
- Mirror in the bathroom is largely useless due to the angle
- Shower would benefit from a second or stronger light
- I was given oats for breakfast but no liquid or yoghurt which kind of defeats the point of including the oats
