Mixed reviews on staff at reception. Some were excellent and so helpful and one not so much. No Aircon in room was hard to sleep in the heat. Helpful staff on 2nd night gave us a helpful tip how to open the window wider.

6/10 Good

Good accommodation, Terrible service
Location was great. Accommodations were good, but the service was horrible. The coffee pot was broke and when we asked for a new one the suggested we just go buy coffee. When we pressed she said she would have a coffee maker sent up, after waiting 45 minutes we went back down and asked again. She once again said to just go buy coffee. I asked to speak with a manager and she said she would call the manager. Finally, she got up and left the room and came back with a new coffee maker. She was rude the entire time.

Modern and pleasant.
Rooms were comfortable and well equipped. Clean and tidy. They were a bit too hot so had to keep the window open all the time. The corridors had a strange smell, a but like hay which was odd but not offensive. The area was 10 mins from the centre and very quiet. Breakfast was croissants, pan au chocolate and orange juice which you collected from reception and ate in your room but as I wasn’t expecting breakfast so it was a pleasant surprise. I would stay there again.

Great location and nice modern building. The rooms were bright with high ceilings and the kitchen was awesome. You can tell the property is newly renovated. Also really appreciated the free fruit and muffins. Even though it’s a student building it definitely felt like a hotel.

Good, if a little over priced for a 2 person stay
Nice place, clearly new. Each set of three rooms has a kitchen area with cooking and seating facilities. The only issue was the room was so hot in the night and the window hardly opened, probably wouldn't be an issue for most of the year. Also the bed seemed smaller than a normal double and we had paid for the upgrade for two people. Not sure how small the normal one would be! (We did wonder if they had forgotten to upgrade the room!) Staff were friendly, nice time with a desk and chair, decent enough shower

Excellent stat in student accommodations
The Hatch Rooms are student accommodation who during the summer are rented out as "hotel". An apartment has multiple rooms (2-4) which share a common living/kitchen area available. You basically rent one of the rooms (en suite) and have also access to the shared living/kitchen area. The kitchen has a big fridge and cooking area and was very clean during my stay. The room was very big with a high ceiling and a big window area let plenty of light into the room. There is a working desk with chair, a comfy lounge chair, and a bed. Plenty of storage in the room and the en-suite is big enough. It has a resonable good shower, but the water pressure could have been better. The staff was very friendly and check-in and out was quick. There are vending machines (cashless) and laundry facilities together with a gym that make this a little bit different. As usual in these kinds of configurations, the doors are loud so one will hear people coming and going, but the noise from other rooms was not visible. There were some nice touched (setting it apart from other similar offers like the Amnis for example) with free bottled water in the room, Lavazza coffee pods in the room and high-quality toilette paper. Overall I enjoyed the stay, some more attention could have been paid to the cleanness on the shelves but otherwise, this was a great stay. Will be back while they still offer rooms.

Great location and facilities
The room was good, clean, comfy and the access to the kitchen etc was super. Everything was modern and spotlessly clean. I had booked a double room and was a little disappointed that while the bed was a double it was positioned up against the wall. A small gripe but all in all the experience was good and I would stay again. The location is central and easy to access. The room was uncomfortably warm on a rare warm Irish night but nights like that are rare here.

The Hatch House is a dormitory for the nearby college that rents rooms during the summer. It's very contemporary and clean and located in the city center. We want to give a special thanks to Mary and Stephen for going above and beyond in making our stay so pleasant.
