Stunning place. Airport was in walking distance of the town centre and I have to say was the most relaxed airport I have ever used. Breathtaking views. I will visit again soon. Thanks Akureyri for a fantastic stay.

Lots of outdoors activity , town not as busy and ready for tourists as Reykjavik but we liked that. Great bars and the forest lagoon is a must. We hired a car and think if hadn't could have been a little restricted- would recommend a visit to anyone

Walk everywhere, take a trip to see Goíafos, be aware restaurants are expensive, eat Skyr, and the bakery down the road does delicious pastries. The coffee shop/bookstore on the corner is nice to sit and read for a while.

Very pretty mountain. It was snowing when we arrived and many places were decorated with lights. Godafoss waterfall is about 30 minutes away and worth a visit as well.

Of all the tiwns in Iceland we visited, it was easily the most inviting.
"The people are excellent! Very helpful and eager to assist. The breakfast offered lots of choices, including hot sausage, bacon, and scrambled eggs. Lots of tasty pastries, too. "
"Eclectic hotel with a hostel feel…breakfast was bountiful and delicious…family suite was spacious and funky. Parking was easy and very convenient to downtown and airport."
"The place was clean and newly renovated. Spacious for a family of 4. Nice, well stacked kitchen. Amazing views from the terrace. Very quiet. The hot tub was fun and a great way to relax after a day. We really enjoyed our stay!"
