A beautiful, historic city with some amazing museums. Pedestrian friendly. A few charming hotels with great bars and excellent food. Pretty heavy traffic with the occasional large agricultural machine along the river bank. Some challenging streets!

Lots of nice artwork on the buildings to take away the drab grey-works of the city; incredibly bookshop and easy access to other places such as Mount Congreave, Tramore and Dunmore East.

The crystal factory tour was excellent and the town is improving itself from previous visits. Could use to sell some Waterford sweatshirts as we were unable to find any in our travels around town !!

Too many young people in bars. People push each other, very crowded with students.
"Beautiful peaceful spot up on a hill with great views. Still close to good restaurants etc. Good size rooms and breakfast was fantastic! Plus a beautiful dog Remy to hang out with us."
"Fantastic experience, great location. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and took time to chat and give us tips about the area. Peaceful patio by the river for an afternoon drink after a day of exploring the city. Spacious room, newly renovated. Would definitely stay again."
"This hotel was outstanding in every aspect! We hated to leave. We had castle view. Free water and alcohol in fridge. Great coffee in the room. This hotel was in the heart of the town. We received private parking in the back."
