I highly recommend visiting this area. While taking a hike up to Queen Adeline's Hill, I was able to watch the Air Force practice, flying their jets over the lake. Everywhere I went, including the Beatrix Potter exhibit and the restaurants. LOVE!

Breathtakingly beautiful and lots of places to eat. Lovely little shops and pubs. Try out The Hole in t'Wall. Great, old little pub and really friendly staff. Definitely going back there next time!

Windermere town was very busy with it being School holidays and a fun fair was on - we preferred using the car ferry and walking on the quieter side of the lake.

To get to the jetty is around a 40 minute walk either next to the road or along the water. The way back is up hill which can be hard going but if you time it right you will be treated to a stunning sunset over the lake which was glorious.

Windermere is fantastic. Always helps to have a car to travel surrounding area. But i hear bus routes are very good there.
"Beautiful location, views are stunning on the outside terrace, rooms are lovely whilst small has all you need although would suggest a mirror on the dressing table. Breakfast was lovely, drinks very reasonably priced with a good selection and lovely welcoming staff. "
"A lovely 3 day stay with my wife for my 60th birthday. Location excellent, Staff very friendly & cooperative, rooms clean ,tidy & modern. We didn't eat in the restaurant apart from breakfast which was good. The complimentary Bentley was a bonus getting into town. Will definitely go again... "
"This is a lovely hotel in a great location. My room was gorgeous and had the best nights sleep I’ve had in years, as the room is sound proofed. The staff are really friendly and helpful.
Just a few things to be aware of. This hotel is quite expensive to book, and it’s a little cheeky they charge an Additional cost for parking, £25 for the night. It does not have aircon so is quite warm. The food and drink are overpriced. (Recommend going elsewhere) However, it is a lovely hotel and you can’t beat the location "
