The hotel is intended for couples, which may be a unique type of hotel in Japan. The normal procedure for walk-in customers is to select the room yourself on the vending machine in the lobby, collect the key, and then pay for the room using the payment machine in the room (basically self-service throughout). However, as foreign customers who pre-booked our stay, we still needed to fill out a form at the reception and have our passports copied (this is a requirement by the Japanese government)....

The staff were very helpful

Good shuttle bus service to/from Toba station. Lovely staff who are eager to help in any way they can. The restaurant is superb, with a Michelin star quality set Japanese menu of around 10 dishes for breakfast & dinner the same, not to be missed as both were included in my rate. The Onsen baths are a real treat & traditional informal wear provided by hotel. I felt I’d experienced Japanese Japan rather than a westernised version of it as in major cities which I am very glad about & made the trip...
