We stayed for 4 nights over the Easter weekend, watching the motorcycle trial in Sant Joan de les Abadesses and sight seeing in the process. I had been here once before for an afternoon and was very impressed and vowed to return.

What I would call a nice old-fashioned hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful but spoke very little English. Google Translate was a massive help. The room was clean large comfortable with doors to balcony which overlooked the car park car parking was free of charge. Hotel has a bar where drinks were available but no restaurant breakfast was continental with an excellent choice even had English breakfast tea although we were only there for one night while my partner was crossing the Pyrenees on...
Wonderful location for exploring the local countryside. Biking and hiking seem to have become immensely popular in recent years. A car for me would have been helpful but I needed a rest and the peaceful scented garden was truly heavenly. Lovely old furniture, healthy breakfasts,near the railway station. Warm welcome and kind hosts. A gem.
Easy to find and park on the road nearby (in October!!). Room spacious but a little dark. Lift. The hotel has a good sized restaurant and there are some eating places in the town, none more than 10 minutes walk.Station for train to Nuira only 3 minutes walk. Rather expensive in comparison to similar Spanish / Catalonia hotels but there is little competition for proximity to the station.
