"We stayed in Valkenburg for the sole purpose of visiting the Velvet Cave Christmas Market. This hotel was within walking distance of the cave, parade, and countless restaurants. We really enjoyed our overnight stay. "

"I have mobility problems so this hotel, with it's on-site parking was absolutely perfect. We stayed in one of the apartments adjacent to the hotel with it's own kitchen and lounge and were very happy. Staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. "

"Set in a beautiful location, the buildings and grounds are stunning. We had a standard room which was perfect for our needs, comfortable bed, lots of room. Couldn’t fault. Valkenburg is a very pleasant 30 minute walk through the neighbouring nature reserve."

"Great hotel with an even better restaurant
This was the best dinner we had at a van der valk property, breakfast was very tasty as well but they ran out of the basics often…
The facility is not luggage friendly with stairs at the front entrance and reception without luggage ramp.
Room temperature could only be set to warm or warmer..
Basic maintenance is needed in the room
Bath grab handle loose, silicone sealant in bathroom cracked everywhere .
No usb plugs in room en not enough power outlets...

"We really enjoyed our stay here at the castle. The amenities were wonderful, the room was very comfortable, and all the facilities at this location were wonderful. We also enjoyed a lovely cup of coffee at the basement café. We did want to mention to the maintenance crew that the armoire in our room, where the robes were stored, had a very strong smell of spray paint. We would recommend that either the room be left open to fresh air with those doors of the armoire open. Or maybe to take the...

"Nice room and great view over square. Check in was a pleasure with very welcoming lady. Hotel provides off street parking about 250m away from hotel for 11 Euro per night but you need to first pay to park in the Walramplein (say 30 mins?) first and organise key collection.
Lovely stay, would certainly stay again and very helpful staff."

"The hotel is big, comfy and well equipped. There are adequate signs in the wellness area so you won’t get lost. One thing I was not satisfied with is that the receptionist said the massage chairs were “included” in the access but in the end we had to pay for the usage. It was not communicated clearly that it is an additional purchase."

"Hotel was great, very clean and with professional and friendly staff. The restaurant - not part of the hotel - should be avoided for evening meals - over-priced meals with very poor food quality. Eat before you arrive here as there is nowhere else locally."

"Who doesn’t like sleeping in a beautifully restored castle built in 1117?
Our room was large, with all the amenities, the bed was comfortable and the birds singing in the trees were numerous. This beautiful rural setting was a delight even during the heavy rains we experienced. "

"We chose this hotel as we were on a football trip and we're visiting Roda for a game. We arrived a few hours before kick off and we're able to park with no issues.
Check in was quick and staff were friendly. The room was comfortable and clean. The bar staff were attentive and friendly and drinks were reasonably priced. Would definitely stay again if in the area. "

"Arrived before 3pm but room wasn't ready which was fine, was able to check in but not get our room or keys until later. Returned at 8pm and collected keys. On arrival to our room we noticed it had not even been cleaned. Dirty towels on bathroom floor and unmade beds.
Had to return to reception to get another room, which was fine but the room could have been cleaner. One glass was dirty, there was dust on some surfaces and dust balls on the floor plus the table legs had hair and dust balls. ...

"The front desk staff, and our dinner waiter Lars were both exceptional. Super friendly and helpful.
They offered bicycle rental at reasonable rate, and there are lots of options for bicycle trails.
Building is older, and room was rather small, but all was clean, quiet, and the bed was comfy.
Had a great stay there."

"The room was spacious and spotless, had a great night sleep. The honesty bar was a hit. Sadly we only stayed one night, would have loved to stay longer. Location was great too! "
"The staff was extremely friendly and helpful! We have received an extra upgrade! Thanks a lot again! Despite the fact that everything seemed nearly perfect, there are some things to be considered: The room was immaculate apart from the unusable toilet brush. The wall in the swimming pool area opposite the women’s shower needs a general renovation. "
"Perfect location if you have to be by the Randwyck area in Maastricht. Close to train and bus stations, some university schools, the MECC and the hospital are literally next door.
Highly recommended!"
"The bed was soooooo comfortable and the staff was very helpful - not just professional but friendly and welcoming.
We had a small issue with our car, we parked it in fron of the hotel to check in and by the time we got back out, there was a police officer writing us up. The officer saw we really were unloading and cancelled the ticket, but the staff got quite upset as they normally have an arrangement with the police that before writing up someone on the special spott "for unloading only" they check with reception if the people are indeed checking in and I just know the emlployee must have given him an earful when she spotted him..."
"Very interesting place for a hotelbto be located. Loads of history as the site of a very old Catholic Church and Priesthood school and learning centre. Also has its own brewery and vine yard. Great location for walking into Kerkrade centre."
