A nice clean hotel with a great location but the main room is very small, almost claustrophobically so. Also the garish colour scheme of the hallways and rooms is jarring and does not appeal to me. I love this hotel. The staff is great and the hotel is very nice. The location is terrible. When coming from airport use a taxi company located in airport. No one else knows where the hotel is at. The neighborhood is terrible. So don't walk around, take a taxi. Overall it is very nice. The hotel and staff make up for location. Well worth it!

Good hotel with very friendly staff. Nice to be able to walk around Intramuros during the daytime. I would not walk the streets here at night. Hotel car pickup at airport terminal one would have been much better had the hotel made it clear that I have to ask for the driver at the Alamo Rental car booth.

It is ridiculous that the hotel's in-room Wi-Fi only allows one single user at a time. My friend and I had to take turns to surf the Internet. Besides, at 11 a.m. on the day of our departure, the reception called to remind us of checking out on time. Isn't it frustrated? We checked out before 12 a.m. Other things are satisfactory, though.

My sister and I stayed at Bayleaf on 1/3/13. Our flight from Seattle arrived at 1030pm and so needed a place to stay overnight that is close to the Farinas bus station. We were pleasantly surprised how nice the staff was at the front desk. Once we arrived at our room, we were even more surprise how big the standard room was and the bathroom was also […] spacious. The only thing was that my son wanted to smoke in the sky deck but there were guests at the sky deck and he was told he couldn't smoke there. Everything was great the only downside is the lack of a pool. The rooms are comfortable, breakfast delicious and the rooftop bar has a great view of Manila Bay, city and golf course. The staff is amazing, the roof-top restaurant is probably the best in Manila, and the location allows for a beautiful skyline view of the harbor and the city. The rooms are a bit small, but this is an old building inside the ancient city walls, and they have done an excellent job making it into a comfy hotel. I would definitely return.

This is a new hotel located Intramuros, in the old part of Manila. I had the misfortune of having teenagers as neighbours that would noisily come to life at night until 2h00 in the morning. The wife and I decided to stay at the Bayleaf for 3 nights before flying out and we couldn't be more happier that we did. The staff was pleasant and extremely accommodating. The room was clean and very modern compared to other places we've stayed at and the view from the room was utterly amazing. The layout of the bathroom was perfect and the rainwater […] shower was pleasant and relaxing after a long day of sightseeing or shopping. The complementary breakfast at 9 Spoons was very good (the wife loved the potatoes and she's Filipino). The location is very convenient too for sightseeing as well as conveniences such as McDonalds and 7 Eleven nearby. And SM mall is just a very short distance away as well if you want to get in some shopping while you're there. But I think the most amazing feature of the hotel is the Sky Deck on the penthouse floor. The view of the city from there is absolutely breathtaking especially at sunset and at night. We had a delicious dinner on the roof and then shared a bottle of wine while sitting in their deck furniture and taking in the stunning scenery. You couldn't ask for a more romantic setting. And the price is so very reasonable for this type of hotel. I've stayed at others in Manila for the same price that don't come even come close to the Bayleaf. I've learned that most taxi drivers in Manila do not know about Bay-leaf hotel or where it is. Just to say “Intramuros” is not enough and tends to add 25 to 50 pesos to the cab fare while they try to find it. What helps is to say “east side of Intramuros at corner of Muralla and Victoria Streets, next to the wall.” And, use Victoria street which is […] less congested in the PM. But, it’s worth every peso; especially the view, the setting, and the history. I love the hotel, the staff, the penthouse patio, the security, the porters who help with the taxi’s (and write down every detail about who and when taxi’s arrive in case you leave your cell phone IN THE TAXI!) and the awesome breakfast! It really is one of Manila's best cleanest, best located hotels. Brand new and everything about our experience would say high level service! The staff were amazing and extremely accommodating, especially John & Chester! The food on the sky deck was some of the best I have tasted in the world! Staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel room was clean, neat, nice. The hotel is just inside the walls of Intramuros, which makes the location and hotel a bit more interesting. There was a small amount of noise coming from a loose vent, of some sort. Other than that, the stay was great.

We have stayed at several hotels in/near Manila. This was the best! The best example I can give is when we left at 4am for the airport they gave us bag breakfasts and water for the trip to the airport. That is better service then we have ever seen!

The hotel is relatively new and the facilities are all modern. Hallways have this wonderful soothing scent. The room was cozy and stylishly designed though it was really small compared to the size of other hotel rooms. Having stayed in many Manila hotels over the last 10 weeks I can say that Bayleaf is for me the best hotel in the area. Staff are excellent without exception and definitely the friendliest we encountered anywhere. This level of excellent personal service extends to the Cioccolata coffee shop downstairs too. The ambience of the rooftop restaurant / bar […] is wonderful. The only disappointment with this hotel for me are the food options. The rooftop restaurant is priced in accordance with the hotel's overall standard (i.e. more expensive than most food outlets) but IMHO the quality of the food fails to match the price tag being asked. Nearby there is only a McDonalds (until 9pm) and 7-11 (both on the doorstep) or take a15 mins walk to the food outlets at SM mall - but all these close at 9pm. Perfect location in Manila's Intramuros; inside the old walled city. We spent a few days here at the end of a 2 week vacation that included a beach resort island getaway. This has to be Manila's best kept secret. The Figleaf is less than 1 year old and is a truely lovely place to stay. The surrounding area is a bit of a cultural scock but Intramuros […] is slowly coming back from the devastation of the second world war. History is being rebuilt in the form of the resoration of the old city. Also, there are now numerous eating places nearby, from street stalls to the ubiquitous Maccas.
