Had a very pleasant two night stay to celebrate our anniversay - the staff were great especially in the dining room, taking an interest and arranging a decorated plate on our anniversay evening. This place is just awful, it pretends to be something it's not. Cheap make over with mish mash tatty furniture in tiny rooms. I swear someone has cleared every car boot sale in the area to furnish it. BE WARNED THE 'SHOWER' is a wall mounted attachment about a foot off the floor so unless you are a midget....

The first thing to say is that the staff, management and owners have worked hard to transform the hotel in a relatively short time. The result is a great start towards a boutique experience, but realistically speaking it would be impossible to drag a 160+ year old building to the highest standard in every aspect without huge cost and risk. The approach […] they have taken is to provide great public spaces, a fantastic restaurant with great value meals in the bar, restaurant or room and great beds (most comfortable for a while). However, there are a few minor issues related to the finishing of the in-room decor and furniture (not enough in the room, uninspiring wardrobe, plastic hangers), and some issues with the bathroom facilities in that there was a shower, but it was only suitable for hand-held use and the experience was less than invigorating. I opted for a bath but it took 20 minutes to fill to a suitable level and was not quite full size. The management is aware of the issues, and plan to make more changes in the future. Breakfast is good value but not included which is unusual for the East cliff hotels. Another abuse of the term "boutique" implying elite or highly specialized which this hotel is unfortunately neither. Chintz wallpaper and dodgy plastic chairs do little to make up for the ponderous staff who seem to be held prisoners behind the reception desk. The bathrooms whilst clean are hideously designed. Toilet seats you cannot sit on due to an […] intruding sink, showers with as much force as a dripping tap and a mirror only suitable for a midget. stayed for a long weekend in this hotel and really enjoyed it, it looks great esecially as we were a young couple. Slight problem with the water temperature the staff were great and fixed the problem asap. We will be back : )

what can i say bad about this hotel, well nothing, lovely very large rooms very clean throughout. the staff all young and very friendly helpfull, food very good positioned well on beach front its just lovely and i am already planning to stay there again.

Came across this hotel by chance. Wonderful value for money. Staff were extremely helpful and polite. Room was excellent and even came with free WiFi which so many others still charge guests for. Ate dinner in the restaurant and the food was fantastic. So much better than the tired old hotels that are close by.
