The Westbourne - Windermere

very nice and comfortable hotel with very friendly hosts and a great location for bowness, would definitely use this hotel again

Staff will go out of their way to help you with anything with great taste in restaurants to knowing where the best walks are. Not too far from windermere or bowness.

As a newbie to the Lakes this was a lovely find! Reasonably priced for the accommodation. Owners very hospitable and helpful. Only minor comment was partner had to clear the hair from below the shower trap as it blocked when using so bit more attention on shower drains maybe from cleaning staff. Great place to stay as a base in the Lakes. Lovely hosts as owners of this B&B and will make all guests feel very welcome! Will visit the Lakes area again and stay in this B&B if We come back to this part of the area.

Friendly hosts, Room small but comfortable. Fantastic breakfasts. Cosy and welcoming.

Poor quality bed and could have been more comfortable with soft furnishings and a fridge. We had a large room but had two servicing doors into the room. Unfortunately on the second day of our stay the alarm went off three times and woke us up. Breakfasts were brilliant and lasted us all day.

A warm welcome greeted us on arrival. Lovely room, very warm and comfortable. Good size too for the price. Excellent breakfast. Excellent service, very personal. Would recommend to others without hesitation.

Stayed for one night at the Westbourne, and what can I say, loved it. From walking in to main reception seeing the fire lit to breakfast in the morning everything was fab. Know Bowness quite well so knew where to get dinner in the evening but the guest information file has a few really good recommendations and the owners are always happy to recommend […] and make reservations. We went at the beginning of December so it was really cold and snowy outside, not that you'd know inside, was lovely and cosy with extra bedding available if needed. Wide choice at breakfast, and happy to cater for all diets. Upon check out Andre told us a small walk to go on which we did, was such a lovely morning walk! Andre and Sue the owners clearly enjoy what they do, which is shown in the experience we had at the Westbourne. A very comfortable establishment in close proximity to shops and excellent eating places.

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights and found the hotel and hospitality lovely. The location was perfect - just around the corner from the main street. The owners recommended Jacksons Bistro as somewhere to eat and it was definitely an excellent suggestion. The only 'minus' would be that we stayed in a compact room and that's exactly what you get, […] so when (not if) we go back we'd definitely ask for a bigger room. The Westbourne is one of the best B&Bs we have ever stayed in. Everything was perfect - it was clean, comfortable, easy to walk into town and restaurants, and the breakfast was really good. We would highly recommend this to anyone heading into the Lake District. The place was run with enthusiasm and attention to detail.

Felt like we were staying with family friends. The breakfast was especially nicely prepared and served. Room was small but adequate.

It was a great place from the moment we arrived when we met the owner/manager in the car park and he offered to help us with our bags. We were served straight away and the room was lovely. On the edge of Bowness Lake Windermere just a short walk to the lakeside and shopping centres makes this an ideal spot from which to launch exploratory tours of the Lake District. From the magnificent full english to the coffee and biscuits on a late return late evening meals became less of a necessity. Eating out either simple or comprehensive menus […] was a pleasure. The bedrooms were comfort defined and so welcome after a long day's driving and walking. A friendly inobstrusive and hyper efficient staff added to the pleasure of our stay Ambleside Coniston Windermere proper and the magnificent central town of Kendall and numerous other villages were all sampled. Very warm welcome with ample parking. Very comfortable room, especially the large bed - I would prefer a bath but shower was hot and free-flowing. Excellent breakfast, complemented by cheerful service from the landlady. Why dont northern hotels serve plain pork sausages rather than local variations? Lovely little B&B perfectly placed for the town and the lake. Pleasant staff, nice clean room, lucky to have a lovely view out of a front window, and good breakfast. Would use again if I went back.
