Facilities and amenities available were great! Staff were always helpful and the venue itself you felt very safe in. The room I stayed in was Room 510 with a double bed and a private room it was. This also exceeded my expectations. The kitchen areas were serviced everyday throughout the day and night and because of this, set the standards for guests to maintain and look after what they used and the venue itself. Location was absolutely fabulous!!! If ever you are wanting to go to the Jim Beam Homegrown festival (Dub and Roots stage - reggae) stay at the YHA. It's practically a two minute walk to the entry gate. New World is so right there! A one minute walk and you are at the entry. YHA Wellington is so central to town Internet facilities the bomb. Oh yes, and if you book a private room, you get to have a free coffee/tea/hot chocolate of your choice from the YHA cafe at reception in the morning. My first night, I got a room on level 4, and everything was good, even though there were too few power sockets. As there were a big group coming in, I was moved to level 6 on the second night. The flush wasn't working well and the shower was faulty as well. On my return a few days later, i got a room on level 5 and the condition of the room was the […] worst of them all. the shower was in a even worse condition as the water was weak and sparse.
