We were very happy with our stay at the Rialto. They have recently renovated the hotel and the rooms are very nicely done (cozy but modern). The size of the room was very good, nice big windows and very comfy sheets/pillows. My only warning would be that if you are a very large individual the shower stall was small - but if you are not overweight this […] will not present a problem (it was high, just narrow). Small, older hotel in central downtown location. Impeccably clean, friendly staff, wonderfully comfortable bed and lovely linens. Close to shops and restaurants. Small bathroom with limited space for toiletries. Oversized armoire piece but no desk or work space. Great room if you are out and about all the time and just need a comfy spot to sleep.

Not only was the price good, it was a very central hotel.

On our trip to Victoria, my husband and I decided to stay here for one night. The Hotel is at a very convenient location. It's right in the heart of Victoria and right next to a bus station. We were given coupons upon check-in for the lounge/tapas bar. We went and enjoyed the "The Veneto" very much. The room was large and comfortable with modern decor. It was our first time and I would definitely go back.

Loved the location - performing arts center is across the street if you want to catch a show and many shops and restaurants within walking distance. The receptionist was helpful in providing maps and directions and when the battery on our door lock failed, sent a maintenance person up immediately to fix it. Clean, comfortable room at a reasonable rate with friendly helpful front desk staff. I did not have to pay a fee to store my bags after I checked out. I had 6 hours. before my boat left and enjoyed sightseeing without my heavy bag_

I really enjoyed my brief stay at the Rialto. My room was large, comfortable and clean. Large, flat-screen TV + big, comfy bed = happy camper. It was warm in Victoria, so it was especially nice to have my own air conditioning unit in my room so I could control the temp. I ALWAYS read reviews before I book a hotel. Regardless of site (hotels.com is my fav!), reviews definitely help make my decision. Yes, I was on crutches and when I asked for a room close by, the host put me on the top floor at the end of the hall (that made me giggle a little). That same host failed to give me a parking pass for the parking lot, two […] blocks away. Could I have let that start my stay on the wrong foot? (no pun intended) How about the somewhat noisy street below? Or the 2 by 3 shower stall in the bathroom, fit for a....toodler not a cripple. YES! But I loved this room! And if I wasn't trying to save my company some money, I would have booked the suite across the hall from me that, from the hallway, looked very spacious (it was a full suite), clean and well designed! The hotel is funky! A great old building, given a modern day face lift. Small but pro main lobby and old school trim around the doors. Clean with classy accents. NIce big king bed and free wi-fi. Now, I could focus (if I was a grumpy, synical and probably just hungry traveller) on the cheap coffee and the host having a bad day, but I will NOT! This hotel was exactlly what I made it to be. The Rialto Hotel, once the Lim Bang Building has a uniques history. Lim Bang a progressive Chinese businessman, supported equal rights for all and was developed multiple businesses in Victoria, BC. The building was renovated in 2009 by the Danzos and they did a beautiful job. I would classify the hotel as Classy Boutique, excellent food, walking location […] to Old Town and overall an enjoyable hotel. I wish my room had been a little bigger, a little quieter. So asking for a quieter located room would have been better for me since the Rialto is located on a busy street with late night goers. The room was plush with comfortable beds and all the immenities. I also wish they had snacks in the rooms to buy, but the downstairs cafe provided excellent cafe and food. The holet met our needs. It was the first time we were out in over a year, the first time since my husband was in a wheel chair. We can say the hotel staff and the physical surrounding clearly met or exceeded our needs. It was refreshing.

Great downtown location within walking distance of major attractions. Recently renovated historic hotel with popular restaurant on one of the major downtown streets. Helpful and efficient staff. Beautiful artwork on the walls of the hotel. Excellent value for your money. Will definitely stay there again.

The hotel has been renovated (well done) but you can still tell it was an older hotel. The lounge is great with fantastic appies and drinks. The location was also good with easy access to downtown. We found parking on the street.

The building and rooms are lovely, but the noise at night made it very difficult to sleep. The noise came from two different sources. One was an outside source that the hotel has not control over (street and traffic), but the other was a noise was inside the hotel and it is something that they can control. It sounded like water was running in the pipes […] just outside our room. It was LOUD and it kept us awake on both nights from 11:30 pm to 2 am. Very stylish interior. Unfortunately the room was a little too small for the rather bulky - though in good taste - modern furniture. Michael, the receptionist, is especially noteworthy. A good source of information which he shares readily and abundantly.

The staff was excellent ! There was just too much and too loud traffic and street people noise. The room was clean and comfortable.

Very friendly staff. Good central location. Older building but has be upgraded nicely. Bathroom in double queen room quite small, especially for a 2 bed room. The hotel was quite nice and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant in the hotel was fantastic - however you could not get room service which was the only downside (after a long day sometime room service is all you really want!!)

A lovely boutique hotel with excellent front desk service and a nice restaurant. It is a walk to the waterfront area but the neighborhood is fine. The public bus to Butchart Gardens stops right across the steet.

they didnt tell us about the big stains on the carpet until we arrived and there was no time to find another hotel on friday afternoon on a long weekend.The ceiling tiles in the walk in closet were not put up properly and it only had a curtain to close off this closet,no wasite bascket in any room.

anything that wasn't right was addressed quickly , even things we didn't notice. Very friendly and helpful management and staff. A pleasure to stay there. This includes lounge , coffee shop.

This turned out to be a great find... all of the staff were helpful and well trained. I needed some extra services which would normally cost extra at most hotels and the staff at the Hotel Rialto were more than happy to assist. My best friend and I decided to get away from Vancouver and spend weekend in Victoria. We chose the Hotel Rialto because it was central to everything and at a good price for a one night stay. When I first arrived, the outside did not look very nice. It is an old building that was redone inside. Upon entry, I had a nice surprise. The entry is very modern and the staff were very helpful. We picked the Rialto because it's right downtown, in the thick of everything . It was surprisingly quiet at night, but a little noisier in the morning. Oh well, we were out anyway. Front desk service was very friendly. Room & washroom are old & very small. Liquor store is right next door. We wont return to this hotel.

Awesome location - close to everything, however no shower pressure and the bathroom was a little on the dodgy side, but otherwise had a great stay.

The lobby and bar are attractive and clean and the room was nice enough and the bed comfortable, but the carpet was dirty and very stained. Location is convenient to Save On Foods Place for a game or concert. Wasn't overly impressed.

A great little hotel that upgraded us on their own. We had a good stay. Convenient restaurant and bar downstairs, a little trouble with the tv but overall excellent services. Good location, near food & entertainment and well within walking distance of all tourist sites. Quaint atmosphere coupled with sophisticated menu and appointments.

Great location and the front end staff was more than helpful. I would definitely stay there again.

This is a great little hotel for a reasonable price! The location was perfectly situated close to all attractions and Victoria's many restaurants. The hotel is within walking distance to all the major attraction areas. Aside from that, the hotel is more toward the skid road area and the hotel room that I live in is more on the cosmetic side than practical use. We were entirely satisfied with this newly renovated boutique hotel, within walking distance to Save On Foods Memorial Centre (1 long block east, 3 short blocks north, 10 min). We chose it as it was the closest hotel to the concert event offering superior quality at an affordable price. Staff are pleasant and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable […] and stylish. Facing the street, there was not very much traffic noise at all and not enough to interrupt our sleep. The hotel is within the downtown tourist area - an easy walk to the Empress, Government Street, Chinatown and all of the boutique stores and restaurants in between.
