"Wonderful, with a few small exceptions"

Overall, the stay here was lovely. Nice location. Sweet little patio. Well maintained. Everything we needed was at our fingertips. Just a few small issues that could be addressed... First, the receptionist was far from courteous. He could have used a smile or even a "How can I help you?" All we ever got was him coming out from the office and staring […] at us. Secondly, the shower curtain was rather mouldy. Their check-in time was 2 p.m., but we were told we weren't able to check-in until 2:30. This was a little frusterating, as we had a wedding to attend. Sorry, but it's not on our shoulders to have the room cleaned. It should be ready for us. Lastly, they could use nicer pillows. Great hotel and great location. It suited us fine as only a 5 minute walk to the trains and right on Toorak and Chapel streets for cafes and restaurants. Trains close but room still quiet. Nice outlook too. Downtown only a short train ride away and room rates good considering the location. The only negative was the patchy room servicing. We couldn't have been more pleased about this place. Room was beautiful, functional and the location in Sth Yarra, adjacent the train and tram is sensational. Toorak RD offers good shopping for the girls and is a great eating strip.

We were on a holiday trip to Melbourne. We were initially checked into a 'Disabled Room', made for wheelchair bound guests. I would not say that this room would be comfortable for able bodied guests due to its location in the hotel and numerous wheelchair ramps in the room. Having been in the hotel industry for years, I knew that this was probably the […] last room available to allocate and only used in an emergency. Thought it was really in poor taste, as we were leisure travelers, staying for over a week, paying rack rate and having booked months in advance. Very funky clean and well located hotel. Staff very efficient and pleasant. Although well fitted the rooms especially the bathroom is a little small., Love all the personal and somewhat entertaining gestures, like the metal dog on the grass matt on the terrace and the weather report in the elevator. We look forward to returning soon
