Very enjoyable stay. Excellent customer service. Hotels.com rate included free breakfast but this was not on the confirmation email and not applicable according to the reception. the hotel was very impressive, free parking a bonus. The bedroom was spacious and very comfortable, although would agree with other reviewers that the lighting was a bit low unless you sat at the office desk. Strange place to put the kettle though! As usual, I continue to be impressed by the Copthorne brand. Great hotels especially for business travelers, fantastic rooms that deserve their rating. The food was good for the morning breakfast as well.

hotel is good but it was noisy in the night

Just a 10 minute walk from city centre of Sheffield. Hotel smart and well decorated. Room was superb and comfortable and clean. Staff were very curteous and nothing was too much trouble when we asked for more towels, coffee etc. Response was quick. All in all a super hotel enjoyed by 6 friends. definately go back again.

The hotel staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful. We had a top floor room with all the necessary amentities and it was quiet at night. The lighting was a little dim but as a central base to stay whilst visiting friends in Sheffield this hotel was very useful.

Stayed here a few times and it is always lovely. The rooms are fantastic with everything you require and always very clean and inviting. The staff are always very helpful and courteous and the breakfasts are extremely tasty and very well cooked - a great start to the day. My daughter is at university here and it's a pleasure to find somewhere that I […] can get a reasonable rate, but still stay somewhere this lovely. I just hope I can keep getting this hotel at a good price as I can't imagine finding another as special as this one, with free parking too, which in sheffield is no mean feat. We spent two nights in the Sheffield Copthorne Hotel. Very nice, fresh, large rooms, with all the amenities, good bathroom. Also opted for breakfast, very nice buffet, lot of choice. Staff was efficient and polite, checkout at noon was appreciated. Only drawbacks: no WIFI in rooms and a little far from the city centre (10-15 minute walk). I stayed in this hotel while sitting an exam in Sheffield. It was very comfortable and the staff were welcoming and friendly.

We were very pleased with our stay at Copthorne Hotel. It was very clean and modern and the room was very spacious and comfortable. Nothing bad to say!

My boyfriend and I were amazed when we strolled through the front doors of the copthorne hotel sheffield! For the amount of money we paid for 2 nights (which was the same or less as some of the more basic hotel chains) we could not believe the class of the hotel. The foyer was well-represented, and the decor was modern and unique. The staff were extremely […] friendly and professional. The room was incredible - when i booked it i assumed the pictures of a plush room were images from the business/luxury suites - but to our surprise it was the standard room! The room was huge, the bed was huge, the bathroom was beautiful! Again the decor was unique and there was enough room for a desk/workspace. The hotel is just a short walk from the main sheffield town centre, which is very lively and had some beautiful christmas decorations up. The town has everything to offer in the form of shops, restaurants, pubs, bars and clubs. found the Copthorne excellent and the breakfast very good indeed,staff very helful only downside was did not have a shower cap provided!

Brilliant hotel

I stayed one night with my friend as we were in Sheffield for a concert. We loved the decor but found the lighting was very dim - we'd checked in sfter 5pm so were reliant on the lamps and spotlights! Not good for 2 girls putting on makeup! My friend sat on the carpet near the bathroom door to get some more light and found a toenail on the carpet! We […] hoped the cleaner had hoovered the whole room!! Also there was a few small stains on my pillow so i changed it for a spare one in the cupboard. I booked this hotel from a Friday through Sunday for the National Swimming Masters. I knew it was about 0.8 mile walk to the Ponds Forge Sports Centre from this hotel, but that didn't bother me so much. It was a brisk walk. My team mates stayed at closer hotels to the centre, like the Hilton which was more money. I had stayed at the Hilton last year, […] and it was OK, but very expensive and no comparison to this hotel. This for me was a top class hotel that was inexpensive for what you get. I never got to really experience how good the breakfast was as I had to be poolside by 8am and didn't want a FULL breakfast, but I did go in to the restaurant for tea and toast and the food did look good, so I am sure it was a good breakfast. My room was comfortable, as was my bed. It had a fridge which was good as I could put food in there to snack on throughout the weekend. The staff seemed to be very helpful and friendly. When I had a problem trying to turn on the tap for the bath, they came up to sort it out for me immediately. I really would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again if I was in the area. big comfortable room was very pleased

A good modern hotel with friendly and attentive staff. My room had a mural of a woodland scene covering one complete wall and this seemed to make the room feel very spacious. The large flat screen TV was recessed into the wall. Tea, coffee and biscuits where provided but, as usual, it was a struggle finding somewhere to plug in the kettle. Contrary to other reviews, this hotel is only 5 minutes walk away from London Road, where there is a huge selection of restaurants including Italian, Japanese, Turkish, Thai and Indian (I recommend a visit to Rossi's Italian Restaurant which serves some of the best Italian food that you'll find outside of Italy). The Hotel was of a good standard. Booked it as we were attending a friend's wedding that weekend Note that it's a good 10 minutes walk from the station going pass the Sheffield United Stadium.Checked-in smoothly only to realise we were not given the Club room we had booked but just a King Room. The hotel is great for football fans as the stadium is right on your doorstep. The hotel is conveniantly positioned close to the city centre and train station, however it is a lot of walking and in the end we decided to get taxis. Our room was very comfortable, however the choice of tv channels and room and bathroom amenties was disappointing. The bar/restaurant […] served great food however it was dearly priced! The staff were polite and helpful. The overall decor and vibe of the hotel is chic, comfortable and modern, and is very impressive. Foods very expensive, but other than that I cannot fault the hotel. The Staff are more than polite, the rooms are FANTASTIC! I would stay in a Copthorne again!

really nice hotel, rooms very clean and stylish with plenty of parking. i would stop here again if im in sheffield. my only problem with the place was the price of the food for what you got in the restaurant.

Nice hotel but service was a bit lax. Explained to reception was feeling under the weather therefore could I cancel breakfast and get a refund. I was told because breakfast was for that day this would not be possible. I therefore thought if I'm paying for it I'm eating it, big mistake! This hotel is in a great location; very close to the town centre and the train station. The breakfast is great, although you cannot cancel it once it has been purchased. Very satisfied with hotel and room. Staff very helpful and friendly. I don't think I'd want to stay there if Utd were playing at home though! Location is ok if you have a car (parking is free and easy). It's a bit of a walk into town and I don't believe there is any public transport passing the hotel either. We stayed at this very comfortable and convenient hotel 18-19th June 2011, we were very pleased with all the facilities, especially the accessible room, which had the required walk-in shower. The staff were pleasant, attentive and helpful. We would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Sheffield. It feels like a fairly new hotel. Excellent room, lovely comfortable bed. Felt like it had some sort of topper on it. Very clean and accommodating. Its attached to the Sheffield United football stadium, which is on Brammel Lane, which is about a mile from the city centre. It cost us £5 for each taxi into or from town. The breakfast is same old same […] old. Full English, with continental if you want it. Nothing special. I believe it has a gym, which i didnt try. There is a convenience store just across the road, which is handy for fresh milk and the like. The hotel is great, just a little too far from the city centre to make me want to return.
