Port Douglas Sands Resort - พอร์ตดักลาส

This is not a hotel, it is managed apartments! The resort is right on the main road, although this should not put you off as the accommdation is set back from the main road. There are security gates around the property, but we found that the front gates were closed but the rear gates were constantly left open (normally by the permanent residents). We […] found the room was clean & having the use of laundry services in the apt ideal especially as we were travelling to other destinations. In the apt there were 2 bedrooms (1 twin & 1 double), kitchen/diner/lounge leading onto the balcony - all balconies over the look the pool! The pool was probably about 15m long (1m to 2m deep) and there was a deep jacuzzi. There is a covered bbq area which was lovely, but this is shared amongest all guests and residents so there may be queue!!! There is a continental breakfast offered, but it is not continetal by any means of the imagation - fruit juice, cornflakes or weetabix and bread, tea and coffee. We would have liked to have seen fruit and yoghurt. The hotel is 15min walk away from the beach and 30 mins into the main town of Port Douglas. The nearest food shops are 30mins away so bear this mind if you have no transport and heavy bags! อ่านเพิ่มเติม

For us, the Sands resort met all our needs. It was close enough to get to Macrossman street/marina/shops etc (short car drive) but far enough away to enjoy some quiet time. Its a bit far to walk to centre of town but possible if you are young and fit enough. However, you can walk to the beach via a designated path through the gardens of the Sheraton […] Mirage resort - takes aprox 10mins. The pool at the "Sands" was beautiful and kept very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom apartment on 2nd floor overlooking the pool which we really appreciated. The resort is quite close to the main PD road but we didn't find it too noisy and the traffic did not disturb our sleep. All in all it was lovely memorable stay with not complaints. อ่านเพิ่มเติม

What a fantasic place to stay. The rooms are very well appointed we stayed in a two bedroom apartment room 45. With views over the pool and garden area it was just magic. The rooms were extremely clean and had everything you could need. Even supplied washing powder for the washing machine. Had a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer in the room, what […] a luxury. Breakfast is included in room fee and was toast, cereal, juice, coffee and tea. All you need really to start the day off. It's a self serve in a room down near the pool which is great. The surrounding area is nice and it's a 6-7 minute walk into Port Douglas but buses drive by and we had a hire car and there was secure underground parking at the units. The only down side was you could hear the traffic on the road out the front, but I guess that is to be expected. The pool area was great, although we ran out of time and didn't get to use it. Stayed 5 nights but could have stayed weeks. It was so good. Must suggest you head to the cemetary over the road and pick up a pamphlet, it gives an insight into Port Douglas at the turn of the 1900's and was interesting to read the stories. อ่านเพิ่มเติม
