Stayed here for 3 nights in march 2013 with my brother. Paid $42 a night for a very modern hotel and somewhat spacious room with balcony and ensuite bathroom. Me and wife stayed at the Royal View Resort for 3 nights and it was an amazing stay. The is located at walking distance from the Victory Monument skytrain station. This is a huge advantage in Bangkok because the traffic is really bad at times and traveling within the city by a taxi or a tuk-tuk can take forever. For the price, this place is unbeatable. The breakfast included with the room is great. Visited in Jan2013. Arrived late at night, found hotel located in a dark alley. Got shocked at first, but was pleasantly surprised by the hotel itself. Conveniently located in Ratchathewi. Victory Monument BTS station is the nearest station. Only a 5min walk away. With the BTS..getting around places can be very convenient. A Day Pass will cost you […] 130baht. Highly recommended as you can DIRECTLY get to Platinum Mall, Chatuchak Market, Siam Paragon, Siam Centre, and other places of interest. The King Power Duty Free Complex is just around the corner. Lots of branded outlets in there. Hotel has got free wifi. Rather impressive speed. Massage centre is right next to the lobby. Convenient but only average massage. Would recommend other nearby outlets, slightly cheaper too. Bathroom with combined shower and bathtub. Hot water supply can be improved. Hotel staff/reception are friendly and can speak relatively good English. Get a map from them and ask them to highlight all the interesting places for you. A park is just right opposite the hotel. You can also get roadside food just few minutes walk away. 7-11 just 2mins' walk away. A small night market is also near the BTS station. Taxi ride to/from Don Meuang Airport only costed approx 150baht. All taxi departing form the airport will incur additional 50baht. All in all, a rather strategic place. The location and price were great - buy the breakfast package it is excellent. The front of house staff were excellent, courteous and helpful. They have also most completed the upgrade of their lobby. You could pay a lot more and get a lot less

Lots of food vendors and restaurants nearby. Close to airport link train and to the skytrain. Spa has great, fairly priced massages. Staff was helpful but barely spoke or understood english making communication challenging. The included breakfast was great. Lots of options.

The room was clean and conformtable. But I was not very satisfied with the hotel staff when I stayed at the hotel. It is becasue I had booked a room with 3 breadfasts for 2 adults with 1 child who was 11 years old. Nice hotel, good location near to Victory Monument station. If you want to have nightlife, it is not here, but there are ok thai restaurants and shopping nearby. Anyway easy to take taxi or skytrain anywhere. Only minus is that there is no pool. WiFi was slow or non-functional at times. Slept well, no noise.

I love staying here. From catching the airport train to the last stop for 45BHt and then one stop on the BTS to Victory monument for 15 Bht. I feel pretty clever already. This is probably one of the better hotels I've stayed in through my travels in Southeast Asia. It's clean and the rooms are more in the 4-5 star hotel range. The beds are extremely comfortable, big tub and having the suite is nice (especially for couples traveling). The only downsides were: 1) I had asked them the night before to call for a taxi to take me to Phaya Thai for the airport train and either they forgot, or decided not to call until I reminded them again after checking out. This was the only hotel that I had this problem with. 2) There were red ants crawling on the bathmat in the bathroom the first day. 3) If you are going at night (via public transport and then walking from BTS), I'd recommend that you very carefully study a map ahead of time as it can be extremely difficult to find in the dark. Nice and helpful staff, welcoming atmosphere, clean room, 10mins walk to BTS Victory Monument. Rooms interior needs to be renovated, old fashion. We could hear people walking and talking outside the room. Otherwise a good choice for budget travellers.

Hotel rooms have recently been refurbished (some floors still being done) and the new rooms are great. Very comfy bed, good bathroom, and DVD player on request. The staff were also very helpful throughout our stay (arranging DVD player, organising take-away to be delivered to room). My gf & I really enjoyed our short (1 night) stay at the Royal View. We arrived after a full 24 hours of travelling and were greeted by freezing cold ice tea and lovely cold face towels which was a lovely touch. The staff were very helpful and spoke reasonable English. Another plus was the breakfast the next morning which was a buffet and of reasonable […] quality (as well as having a good choice). From my experience of these reviews people really want to know whats wrong with the place so i'll focus on that: - Location: in terms of getting around the city it isn't badly placed as it is very close to Victory Monument sky train so you can get into Siam Square and a whole host of other places. However, its NOT close to teh Grand Palace or Khao San Road, if that's what you're looking to visit. In fact we tried to get a taxi back at about half past 6 in the evening from Khao San Road (we were absolutely exhausted) and couldn't find anyone who would take us. In the end we had to get a Tuk Tuk having walked half the way. Obviously being a bit out of the way has its benefits and its nice to stay somewhere which isn't just populated by Westerners (at breakfast we were the only table who weren't Thai). - The rooms: they are perfectly fine but a bit dated. The pictures on the website are, I would say, not reflective of the current state of the rooms. They could just do with a lick of paint and a breath of colour really. That said the bathroom was clean, the shower was hot, the a/c worked, there was complimentary water and coffee/tea and a balcony, so generally the room was of a good standard, just not quite as good as we had hoped it might be. As you can see, my two main negative points are mixed in with positive points. I would say this is a cracking hotel for money we paid for it, and if you turned up the door in low season i'm sure you could get it cheaper than we paid. All in all I would recommend. อ่านเพิ่มเติม
