The hotel is very stylish and trendy and the location is fantastic. It's just next to the Imperial Palace Park and close to the river, very nice for relaxing walks. The Screen is located in an atmospheric street that is quiet and convenient. We stayed in room 103, which was very spacious and comfortable.However, as this room's walls are painted black and the lighting is dim (especially near the wardrobe), it can feel like you are staying in a cave.Would recommend the hotel, but a different room. What a beautiful, hip hotel! The hotel is close to a lot of shopping and not that far from a subway line. It wasn't that convenient to Kyoto Station but definitely worth it. We had a great stay!

My boyfriend and I travel all over the world and The Screen was VERY awesome. The staff was extremely helpful. They gave wonderful directions to all the temples and shrines we wanted to see. They also gave great suggestions of cool local places to eat. They gave specific street intersections that geisha are known to be seen. A boutique hotel with extraordinary room designs and a staff that will do the impossible (the manager gave us his private cell phone number if we needed help.) This hotel added immensely to the pleasure of our visit to Kyoto.

Je recommande fermement cet hôtel pour la visite de Kyoto : les chambres sont très spacieuses et très agréables, très très bien équipées (bien plus équipées que la plupart des chambres d'hôtel de cette catégorie). Et surtout, l'équipe se met en quatre pour vous satisfaire : on peut les solliciter pour les restaurants (ils ont passé plus de 15 coups […] de téléphone pour nous trouver une table dans l'un des restaurants du guide où nous souhaitions aller), et pour tout le quotidien (ils m'ont envoyé le portefeuille que j'avais oublié dans le coffre fort à Tokyo où je restais ensuite sans que cela ne pose aucun problème) .
