The lifts are too dark. The lights are dimmed to the extent that most could not see which button to push.

The size reminded me of hotel in Tokyo. But I would think Tokyo makes the same size more comfortable than this one.

What I like: New hotel, a stone's throw away from Tian Hau MTR stop. Hotel staff is quite friendly. What I dont like:Hotel decor favours dark and mystique but it's so dark that you cant really see the buttons in the lift. The letdown: Despite a nice room, I was unable to lock the door at first. Thankfully, they managed to get a locksmith to fix it. […] The final straw was no having hot water during winter. No way to fix it and the hotel didnt offer alternatives. We asked for a queen size bed, but the bed we got was very small, like a small double uk size bed.

The room is pretty small. But it has everything you need. Good for short stay.

Nice room with good standard, however the aircondition is too noisy compared to overall standard.

Having reached after a PLane journey + Train to the hotel , they were not ready with the room. After insisting suddenly they claim that there was a mistake and a room is ready for me. This was something incorrect. Hotel is clean and rooms ok - but does not offer value for money they charged .

This hotel has an option for "Internet" with an extra US$9. But it's NOT wifi. That means unless you bring your laptop. Otherwise, ipad and smart phones wont work. I paid the extra dollars thinking I would be able to use my ipad. But found out it wasn't wifi when I checked in. We chose this bc we knew the location is convenient and only a short walk to the MTR station. The hotel is fairly new and clean. Would stay again.

The hotel is in a conveniently located with a variety of local food shops, cafes and restaurants within walking distance. There is also a cross harbour taxi stand a couple of streets down the road. you can take bus A11 from airport to htl. you may have a little difficulty finding the hotel but to expedite, you can ask passers by for exact location. the hotel is near to Tin Hao Mtr. pretty convenient once you get the hang of it. hotel surrounding is not so conducive tho the rooms are clean. market is nearby. for those who loves buying food stuff, […] not a bad place to go. The hotel was very clean and very convienent to the MTR( 3 blocks), lots of local inexpensive restaurant nearby and a bakery with fresh breads and pastry along the way to the MTR. I would come back again.

FRONT STAFF IS NOT AT ALL HOSPITABLE.

Just one problem in bathroom. Water will leak from bathroom to toilet as the glass door cannot close properly.

Rates were very reasonable considering the cleanliness and condition of the hotel. It was in a quiet part of the neighborhood, which it was quite nice. It isn't directly in Causeway Bay, more towards North Point - but the MTR station (Tin Hau) is only a couple blocks away so getting around was very convenient. There are convenience stores right around […] the corner. Room service was good, ordered breakfast and dinner. They don't have wi-fi in the entire building, so I actually brought a router and used their wired internet that way since I had to use my iPhone - for 24 hrs was about 120 HKD. Coming from NYC, it is comparable to a boutique hotel - with a much smaller room of course, but from what I know - all rooms are pretty small in HK. For the $, it is definitely a great place to stay. Very clean, short walk from train station, all staff very friendly, great deal with the free breakfast. Would recommend to others

small bathroom equipment, water wets from the showroom to the toilet part. Hotel staff are not being considerate to convenient their customers.

The Hotel is not located well. The Crew give no service and speak bad English. No way to satisfy normal Guests requests. I do not suggest to us it,I even formally requested a claim for the very bad service.

The Empire is a good, value for money hotel with solid service. The rooms are well equipped and cleanliness is excellent. My only gripe about the room would be the size of the bed. Although designated a 'queen' is was not long enough. The hotel's location is good and is a short 5 minute walk from the MTR station (train). There is however a garbage […] recycling station and public toilet block directly opposite the hotel. This is a little unsightly and does detract from the location. There's also a good deal of noise from street level, which could be heard clearly even from the 7th floor. BE CAREFUL at CHECKOUT.... when we checkout... they came back with a slew of charges...... and they do not let you know these until you are waiting for your transport to the airport...DO NOT drink the complementary water.... they charge for this... Havin been stayed at Empire Hotel in Wing Hing Causeway Bay adds more comfort and pleasure for my brief tour in HK. It was such a nice hotel, with clean room. The staff are approachable. After the tiring day going here and there to see the beauty of the city, you can immediately relax at this hotel after giving yourself a nice shower in the magical […] glass bathroom. Stayed here for 4 nights, with breakfast. My first nights stay was awful. i woke up the next morning with severe back pain. The bed was two single beds put together, which there was a metal pole in the middle where i had slept. i spoke to reception and was told all their beds are like this, and that they could be seperated. I explained that i paid […] for a double bed. I was then DOWNGRADED to a smaller room with a queen bed. Breakfast was average, buffet style. Concierge were not very helpful or knowlegeable. I wanted to see the pink dolphins, and the happy valley races. There was no help to see these at all. We already knew the hotels in HK have quite small rooms so no surprises there! The bed was very comfy compared to other hotels in China with lovely soft feather pillows. I'd read some bad reviews about the Empire in Wan Chai but, apart from a little peeling wallpaper in the bedroom, I found the decor and cleanliness to be fine. What did annoy me was […] the constant drone of what I could only presume was the air conditioning. There was also a hum from a light fitting, so we had to pull the card out of the slot by the door at night and cut the electricity for it to disappear. The breakfast is exactly the same every day and could become monotonous quickly. The neighborhood is slightly sleazy (just one street really) but can easily be avoided and the MTR is only a 3 minute walk. We booked a City View room, but the only reason we had a city view was because we were on the 20th floor, any lower and we'd have been in a dark chasm between the back of three other buuildings, as it was the view we had was pretty ugly. Whilst walking down the corridor as the maids were cleaning other rooms, I saw the ones on the opposite side were nicer and had a view over the streets and more like the 'City View' promised. As most may have already expected, the room is small. However, the coziness and comfort of the decor makes it up! Especially for the magic glass! It was a fun experience and definitely unique. Should I also say that the switches to fog/ defog the glass are located both in the toilet, and outside! (: The only downside is that, the bathroom leaks water […] at times. Location wise, it is at most about a 5 minutes walk to Tin Hau MTR station. Also, if you're craving for some late Night desserts, the dessert store 'Tin Hau Dessert' offers a variety of choices! A popular store that serves great dessert. Apart from this, there are also many eateries around and stores like Watsons. In conclusion, as a budget hotel, it is worth the money. Details missing: no wash cloths provided, no suitcase stands, no soap bars and no "Do not disturb" signs Basically, the hotel looks nice. The rooms are small but manageable. The condition of the hotel could be improved on. When I checked in, my room didn't have any soap to wash my hands. The soap dispenser was empty and there were no bars of soap provided. […] The toliet paper holder was not fastened tight enough and the rolls kept on falling off. The most annoying thing though was that on both Sat and Sun morning, I was awakened by the housekeeping staff with knock and opening of the door. Depite having a switch on the wall which is used to indicate whether or not you want the housekeeping to come (I had it off both mornings), the staff came in anyway. They woke me up twice on Sat morning and once on Sun. So I'm torn, I would suggest not staying at the Empire hotel if you like your sleep and hand soap. Liked the mini refrigerater in the room. The shower was amazing. Room was small but functional.

The cheap rooms are really tiny. Only good for one person. My room faced the refuse collection center across the street. The neighborhood is ok, and the metro station is only a few minutes away. Lots of 7-11s and a couple Starbucks nearby. My room was noisy with traffic at night. Maybe due to refuse collection center. But I got a super deal on hotels.ca […] so it was good value. No gym. Nice hotel but water will leak out to bathroom shower... beware

My room was very small, but that wasn't a big deal because it was just me in the room with one large suitcase. The room was very clean and well lit. Huge flat screen TV for the room which was a pleasant surprise. About 5 minutes walk away from the Tin Hau MTR station!

It was very convenient, only a few minutes walking to MTR (subway) station. There were many nice restaurants in the area for Chinese food, Japanese food, and Vietnamese food. The room was a bit too small for two people. There was only one chair. There was no bathtub and too small. It was difficult to dress in the bathroom.

The room was much smaller than expected and if you're going to share the room, better know your co-traveller very well: the partition between the bedroom and the bathroom is transparent. That was disappointing because hotels with larger rooms and a more central location were actually available for the same price. I moved out after one night...
