Hôtel de l'Europe - ปารีส

Hotel was not the best I have stayed in by any stretch and pictures on the website were deceiving to the room that was allocated. Mould in the shower cubicle, stains on the carpet and dust all over the room. We stayed in room 40. Whilst convenient for Gare Du Nord station this was the only positive about the hotel.

Dirty, no lift, ugly, terrible neighborhood. Avoid! Otherwise you will regret like me...

It wasn't a bad hotel, I gave it a 4 star on European standards, but in the US it would be a 2 or 3. It is, however, affordable and in downtown Paris! The parking garage that is mentioned is about a block away and a completly seperate entity. I payed 82 euros to park for about 2.5 days. Overall, the hotel wasn't bad for the price.

We booked this hotel for its convenient location close to Gare du Nord as several of us were meeting there and one of us had to catch the early morning Eurostar back to London the following day. The location is excellent for that purpose being less than 10 minutes walk from Paris Nord and an abundance of cafes and restaurants nearby. Onward travel is […] convenient as Metro, RER, TER, TGV and Eurostar all go from Gare du Nord and Gare du l'Est is close also. The area north up towards Sacre Coeur could be dodgy and there are "opportunists" around the station area, but we felt quite safe in the near vicinity of the hotel. Beware of people flashing pens in your face and asking you to sign something. They are hustlers out for money. I recommend buying a "carnet" of tube tickets if you plan a few tube trips, currently 10 for EUR12.50. They are one way tickets and good value for money. The hotel itself. We had a double twin room and a triple room. The twin was vey small and the beds butted up against each other. The shower space was limited, especially for a large person, but at least it worked and no problem with hot water. Otherwise it was clean, warm (November visit). Wardrobe space limited but we were only there one night so that didn't matter. The triple was larger with double and single bed. The single was separate and not butted up to the double so more space. Again warm, clean yet limited wardrobe space. The bathroom was old but adequate with small shower and hot water. When we arrived it was too early for check in, but the receptionist was very helpful allowing us to leave our bags to save trawling them around all day. On departure we left our bags again until 5 o'clock at night, so no problem there. They do a limited breakfast but there are plenty of places around the station offering a decent petit-dejeuner for EUR6.00 or so. We stayed in a triple room: 1 double and 1 single bed. the 1 single bed looked like a camp bed, but it was comfortable enough. breakfast was adequate. The price we paid perperson was equivalent to staying at a youth hostel so it was good value if you're not interested in spending much time in your room for your stay in Paris.

Hotel needs a lot of update. Front office personnel are pretty nice.

The room was not as clean as expected (stains on the carpet for instance), the wireless internet was not working (one reason I chose this hotel was the alleged wireless access) and from what I gathered by talking to the receptionist, it rarely works, and finally there was no queen-size bed but 2 small bed next to each other. We were two young guys in Paris for 4 nights. We picked this hotel largely for the convenient location and fair price. This hotel is about 3 minutes walk from the main Gare Du Nord station in Paris. So we were close to the Metro system 1) to allow us to easily explore Paris and 2) easy access to Charles De Gaulle airport. The hotel is 2 star. We ordered […] a twin room. The room was small and basic but very clean. Perfectly adequate for our needs. The street is quite noisy - we mentioned this on arrival, and the helpful reception guy told us he had put us in a room at the back of the hotel which was silent. I would recommend asking for a room at the back (not on the main street). We opted not to have the breakfast. It is easy to grab something in a cafe or supermarket anyway. The only thing I would say is that that their is currently (as at 14 May 2011) building work at the back of the hotel. This commenced at 8am each morning. However, it wasn't too loud. And we wanted to get up early each morning to explore Paris anyway. The building work won't last for too long I would guess. Would we stay here again - YES. The price was very reasonable, the location very convenient. Ok, you could find more luxurious hotels (it is a bit basic). But the room was clean and perfectly adequate. There was a tv too. One comment about the area. My guide book warns to be careful around Gare Du Nord and Boulevard De Magenta (street of Hotel De L'Europe) especially at night. We didn't have any problems. I would though urge lone travellers or women to be careful. Boulevard De Strasbourg (near to Boulevard De Magenta) did feel a bit threatening at night, and I would avoid that street. อ่านเพิ่มเติม

Een positieve verrassing, juist omdat wij er 9 jaar geleden ook geweest zijn en het hotel sindsdien helemaal gerenoveerd is.

Helt ok hotell nära tunnelbanan. Ganska nära hotellet (på väg mot tunnelbanan) ligger några mataffärer där man kan köpa med sig matsäck inför dagen eller kvällen. Frukosten var INTE prisvärd, typisk fransk med te/choklad/kaffe, croissant, baguette, smör och marmelad för 6 euro per person och det var det INTE värt.
